We at Prep Girls Hoops also made the annual trek to the Lowcountry for Saturday's day of play. After focusing on guard play for the last couple of days, we now turn our attention to frontcourt standouts that are more than ready for the upcoming season.

Seeing 5A Division 1 River Bluff on a team's schedule in 2025-26 will likely produce a different reaction than if a team saw the Gators on their schedule last season. The return of Tifre for her second go-round with River Bluff is one reason why. Following her final season in the AAU ranks with TUSC, Her rebounding, ball-handling capabilities and offensive versatility are major reasons why this year's Gators will be a team to beat in the 5A Division 1 ranks. Among Tifre's recent collegiate suitors are Piedmont University and Denmark Tech. A double-double threat on a consistent basis, Tifre averaged 12 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.6 steals last season at Northside Christian.

Holmes ensured Lee Central made more than its fair share of noise after dropping from 2A to 1A beginning with last season. Her play was a key ingredient in the Stallions' winning formula that got the team to the 1A state championship game at the Florence Center. A formidable frontcourt force for the Stallions, she has played at the varsity level since she was an eighth grader. Last season, Holmes played in 24 games and averaged 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest. With the number of seniors Lee Central graduated from last season's team, Holmes will likely be even more of a featured player on both offense and defense for the Stallions.

After a freshman season for 5A Division 2 Westwood that saw Dugger play in 22 games, coach Gregory Bauldrick is looking for Dugger to take that next step in her development as she begins her sophomore season. Last season was Dugger's first with the Redhawks after transferring from White Knoll. A Team Unleashed South Carolina product, Dugger as a defender knows how to read plays before they happen, enabling her to play heads-up and come through with defensive stops. She also knows how to turn defense into offense by getting out in transition and delivering strong finishes at the cup.

Banks may not garner the headlines of a few of her peers but the standout from 2A Cheraw received an invite to the SCBCA Elite Camp for a reason. Banks understands the art of being active even when the ball is not in her hands and showcases her versatility with her ability to connect on 3-point attempts. Converting on tough shots in close proximity to the basket is another positive attribute to Banks' game. The Braves benefitted greatly from an improved sophomore season. Banks wore Cheraw's colors on 27 occasions and she averaged nine points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest.

Nelson is a multi-sport athlete who excels in basketball, softball and in volleyball at 4A Wilson. She is one of the three seniors that first-year Ki'Ari Cain will be working alongside as Wilson looks to build upon a what was a stellar 2024-25. Nelson played in 28 games last season for the Tigers. She fuses together speed with a high basketball IQ that can enable her to go from defending on the perimeter to playing defense in the paint. That can lead to many blocked shots for Nelson as a defender. Collecting steals and effective rebounding are also noteworthy elements to Nelson's game.
