The Watford City Wolves play in arguably the best gym in the entire state. They have done a nice job of building their program to give their community reason to fill that beautiful facility. This year's team is a quality team and could surprise a lot of people this season. They have a ton of returning players with a lot of experience. They have a nice mix of guards, wings, and forwards. They are hoping to use that speed and athleticism to their advantage. The Wolves also return three All-Region selections in sophomores Annabell Bohn and [player_tooltip player_id='1118783' first='Harlee' last='Jacobson'] and senior [player_tooltip player_id='379966' first='Bailey' last='Mattson']. Bohn was a menace defensively last season, recording 86 steals. Jacobson is a very steady point guard. Mattson averaged double-figures scoring and is their top returning scorer. Sprinkle in players like Lohgan Hanna, Mylee Rhone, Bryndal Geiger, and Salil Shoemaker and you have one solid team.

The Killdeer Cowgirls return nearly their entire roster from last season. They only graduated one senior and are hoping that their underclassmen from the previous seasons gained enough experience to compete in Region 4. This team will be a senior heavy squad, led by All-Region and All-State returner [player_tooltip player_id='1052989' first='Mickellyn' last='Walker']. She is one of the better scorers in the state and can stretch the floor with her three-point shooting ability. She is also an effective rebounder, standing at 5'11. Taylee Anderson, Brooke Pojorlie, Morgan Smith, Ophelia Howling Wolf, Tessa Dvorak, and Aubrey Dvorak round out this large senior class. Killdeer is looking for a second reliable scoring option behind Walker. Smith and Anderson should be two girls to keep an eye on in that department. Sophomore Savanna McCrone gained some valuable experience last year and brings back solid numbers, having averaged 5 points per game and 5 rebounds per game last season. This team is eager to take the next step and have enough pieces to be a competitive group.
