It's a question we get from college coaches about every class of prospects: “Who are the best post players?” That totally makes sense, of course, given that size is a commodity that always seems to be in short supply regardless of what level of college basketball coaches are recruiting for. Last week we unveiled our Prep Girls Hoops Freshman 50 – the first official ranking this year's 9th graders in Minnesota – and like the classes before it, the 2029 group has some quality post prospects to consider. Our goal today is to give you some names to make note of in the months and years to come.

Last week we covered the top 20 prospects in the class in four installments. To be honest, the top 20 is a guard-heavy group with some elite floor generals, lengthy shooters and true athletes. There are four post players of note among them:

The lengthy lefty from Blooming Prairie continues to build her reputation as one of Southern Minnesota's rising stars. At 6-foot, Schwarz impacts the game everywhere – rebounding, defending, scoring, and creating for teammates. She set a school record with 318 rebounds last season while averaging 12.3 per game. With her wiry frame, athleticism, and quick first step, she scores over smaller defenders and attacks confidently off the bounce. Unselfish and composed, Schwarz plays with poise beyond her years. A natural multi-sport athlete, she's emerging as a scholarship-level prospect with a rapidly expanding game and growing confidence.

Baartman, a 5'11 forward from Goodhue, is the latest in a long line of impact players from that powerhouse program. A high-energy, fundamentally sound athlete, she brings a big frame, length, and a blue-collar mentality to every possession. Baartman defends well, crashes the boards with purpose, and isn't afraid to take the big shot. She's showed flashes of brilliance with consistent double-digit scoring efforts all spring and summer. A team-first performer who is always hustling, Aza generally keeps things simple but effective. Her motor, size, and basketball IQ make her one of the more complete and reliable forwards in the 2029 class.

With a good-sized frame and non-stop motor, she's a defensive force capable of guarding every position. Offensively, she can post up, face up, and attack off the dribble with growing confidence. Tesch plays with intensity and purpose, excelling in the pick-and-roll and embracing contact around the rim. Her combination of strength, quickness, and agility makes her a difficult matchup. With continued development on the perimeter, her already impressive all-around game will rise to another level.

At 5'11, Diessner is a long, athletic competitor who makes her presence felt on both ends of the court. She's a strong rebounder and disruptive defender who uses her length and anticipation to alter shots and create turnovers. Offensively, she's improving quickly – knocking down shots with solid mechanics and a quick release while also finishing around the rim. Her mobility and effort make her dangerous in transition, and she consistently creates extra possessions through hustle. Diessner's developing versatility and energy serve her well and her steady growth signals a bright future ahead.

Clemens, a 6-foot forward from Wayzata, is a well-rounded contributor who thrives on energy, communication, and effort. She's vocal, physical, and relentless – defending multiple positions and hitting the glass hard on both ends. Clemens plays a basic but effective brand of basketball, combining her length and strength to make an impact in every role. Her improving perimeter shot adds another dimension, while her work ethic and leadership make her invaluable . Always engaged and encouraging, Clemens embodies the toughness, versatility, and unselfishness that coaches love to build around.

At 6'2, Blakely is one of the most intriguing frontcourt prospects in the 2027 class. The Minnetonka power forward combines size, strength, and mobility with touch and skill. She can back defenders down inside or step out to hit threes, making her a dual threat. At the Freshman Showcase, Blakely impressed with her poise, passing, and ability to defend in space. She excels in the pick-and-roll, shows soft hands around the rim, and plays with controlled physicality. With her size and versatility, Blakely has a ways to go but projects as a scholarship-level talent with tremendous long-term potential.

Zubich, a 6'3 power forward from Duluth East, is a name that's going to climb fast on college radars. She impressed us this summer with a rare combination of mobility, touch, and size. A fluid mover with great hands, she finishes efficiently around the basket and shows developing range to about 15 feet and beyond. Defensively, Zubich uses her length to block shots and alter looks inside while staying disciplined. She plays with poise, purpose, and unselfishness, and her attitude and work ethic set her apart. A true scholarship-level prospect with significant upside. She's probably the biggest post we've seen in the class.

Behnke, a 6-foot forward, has the build, poise, and polish to be a strong performer at the next level. She averaged 6.7 points and 6 rebounds last season and continues to grow into a reliable two-way contributor. Smart and fundamentally sound, Behnke boxes out on every possession, runs the floor hard, and finishes efficiently inside. Behnke's improved three-point shooting adds range to her game, and her motor never seems to stop. A strong rebounder and steady defender, she's a coach's dream – dependable, tough, and detail-oriented. Expect her impact to expand significantly for Spring Lake Park this winter.
