It's been a productive start to the 2025-2026 high school season for [player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy'] and her new Clinton High School program. Guy, a Stanford WBB commit, has been getting it done when she has played so far this Winter. When breaking down Guy's game, she can do it all at the Guard position but she has preferred to hit shots from deep at an impressively high rate over their first month and a half of action. She is leading the state in three pointers made so far this Winter and I don't expect that stat to slow down with how often she is getting her shot off from behind the three point like. She is attempting anywhere from 10-20 three pointers per contest with most going in so far. In this Update Guy holds onto that #1 spot out of the 2028 Class but she does need to keep working because the others below her in this Class are starting to catch up in some aspects as they get older.

We have been really impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham'] of Norwalk High School. I'm not sure which Division-level that Birmingham will end up at but it she stays on this pace, she is going to end up just like her older sister from year's past, who is now starting at NWMS as a Freshman. Birmingham is a play-maker. She has an impactful game and her production really shows that. I've seen most of Norwalk's contests this Winter and when Birmingham is on, they are tough to beat. She is much better than your average Women's High School prospect and I'm sure her game-play will continue to reflect that as we move into Winter break.

[player_tooltip player_id='880913' first='Kelli' last='Kalb'] should end up as a D1 prospect at the end of her time of high school ball but she still has a few years to go before we get to that point. Kalb has a natural feel for the game, an offensively arsenal, and she is someone that can standout on defense. This Winter with Johnston the Dragons have started with a 9-0 record and in most games, Kalb has shown up and shown out. She might not be the top producer for her crew just yet but she knows how to impact the outcome of a contest with her presence. She can get you buckets or she can get you stops while playing smart basketball and that's all you can ask for from a coaching perspective.

Coming in at #4 in this Update is [player_tooltip player_id='1092007' first='Sadie' last='McCann'] of Waukee NW High School. McCann is somewhat slept on a little bit. She isn't Waukee NW's main producer offensively so some people think that she doesn't contribute much but that couldn't be further from the truth. McCann is one of the most efficient prospects that this roster possesses. When her AAU team made their National Title run this Spring, McCann was considered for the MVP as she was always making a game-winning play when it mattered the most. This is an important Winter for all prospect out of the 2028 Class. This group has to show that their won't be a Sophomore slump and McCan is doing a good job of that so far.

For the next few years of high school ball we will have to understand the position that [player_tooltip player_id='880903' first='Addie' last='McLaughlin'] of Regina High School is in. McLaughlin is the team. She is the source. The source of what you might ask? The source of everything for the Regals. The scoring, assisting, stealing, defending, rebounding, communicating - it's all McLaughlin. She is PG #1 per usual but now she has less help then ever so to see how she will adapt to this situation will tell us a lot. In this piece McLaughlin holds onto the #5 spot. Which is a nice place to be moving into 2026.
