Art Turner Memorial Classic Standouts

I got a chance to view some of the games at the Art Turner Memorial Classic and witnessed some outstanding talent. Players showed off their skill level in front of college scouts and were impressive from all the feedback. Here are some of the standouts in the games that I viewed.    Charli started hot in her game against Pallotti. She opened up with a steal, assist and a long step-back jumper in the first few possessions alone. She had a great play off of another steal using her inside hand to finish and avoid the block. She is a perimeter player but I was impressed with her interior defense also, as she was able to hold her position without fouling and alter shots. She showed a good touch on her shot making two pointers just inside of the line and showing the range to knock down the three.     Pandora did well getting in the lane on her drives. When she got to the basket on several occasions, she was able to elevate and hang in the air letting the defender fly by as she avoided the block shot for a finish. She played physical and was able to get to the line repeatedly drawing contact. She converted on her free throws and played solid defense throughout the day.     Savannah seemed to get every rebound inside and did especially well on the offensive glass, giving her team second chance opportunities. She scored repeatedly inside and had an impressive streak of 10 straight points in the second quarter. She was able to step away from the basket and pull up from the key with a nice rotation and follow through. She seems poised and ready to make the leap to the college level.     Logan had good command of the offense. She was able to penetrate and score and handled full court pressure well. She is running the Pallotti offense to perfection, not forcing anything but taking what's available. She has a good feel of getting the ball to her teammates at the right moments so that they can be effective.     Brooke was relentless at crashing the boards in her game against Paul VI. She played solid in the interior with her back to the basket, but also moved her feet well to defend the perimeter on defense. Despite showing an inside presence on the floor she was able to step out and knock down the three which makes her a problem for a traditional post player to cover for an entire game.     Jada had a nice pullup jumper from around 13 feet and made plays with her hustle. With her size she has the versatility to play inside and out. She played with a lot of energy and was always looking to attack the basket or jump the lane for a steal.     Ari started a little slow but picked it up as the game continued. She was able to weave through defenders and keep her dribble alive even when the double team came. She stays low with the ball not giving the defense many opportunities to get a steal off of her. She has a good shot with nice form.     It was hard to identify the Panthers players as their jersey numbers didn't match the roster, however, the Brown University commit [player_tooltip player_id='468759' first='Sravya' last='Janapati'] made herself known. Sravya was very active on both ends. She started off the action against McDonogh with a nice scoop layup that she was able to convert into a three point play. She followed that up with a mid-range set shot and a three. She showed that she had the ability to score at each level on the floor.
