4A sleeper Berryhill improved to 5-0 by wining the JT Dixon Memorial Tournament at Haskell. They won the title 56-54 over a likely Class 3A State Tournament team, Keys. In that game it was the sophomore who was a star for Berryhill. She went OFF for 31 points, including 5-6 shooting from three. Defensive capabilities and toughness have never been a question for "Bug". But if she's going to shoot the ball like that, then the sky is the limit for another talented member of Oklahoma's Class of 2028. The Maidens are now 13th in the recent Class 4A coaches rankings.

Hunt was impressive in a 5A clash with Newcastle on Tuesday. But the Eagles suffered a setback. She and her teammates bounced back in a big way at the Joe Lawson Invitational in Norman. They claimed wins over 6A programs Edmond Santa Fe, Owasso and Mustang to win the title. In the title game, Hunt went for 15 points vs Mustang. And in the semifinals, she had a 21 point, clutch shooting performance in an overtime win over Owasso. While a smaller guard, her perimeter shooting and clear swagger make her a classic "heart over height" prospect.

Caney Valley ran through the Copan Tournament to move to 6-0. The Lady Trojan have slipped into the Class 2A rankings at 16th. Leading the way is Smith, she scored 15 points in the title game. The speedy sophomore was producing all tournament with averages of 21 points, 5 steals, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. That production earned her MVP honors and moved Caney Valley into the sleeper category for the 2A State Tournament.

Roper is a pure bucket getter and she's producing for a feisty Claremore team. She went off for 36 points and 7 rebounds in their semifinals win over Kiefer. Claremore would then beat Salina 63-36 over Salina to win the Big Dawg shootout. Roper had 29 points in the title game. The Lady Zebras are now 5-0 headed into the a big district game against Durant on Tuesday.

The Creighton soccer commit is quite the hooper. Was a key contributor last year for Bethany and is now a go to option. On Saturday, she sparked a second half comeback for the Bronchos to win the Southern Oklahoma Invitational in Duncan. Regier went for 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the title game. Before that in the semifinals, she had a full stat line of 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Great bounce back stretch for Bethany and Regier as they had tough loss to conference rivals Kingfisher last Tuesday.

McLoud is dominating to start the season and it all starts with their outstanding junior lead guard. Mapira was named MVP of tournament in Bethel. In their title victory, she nearly recorded a double double of 11 points and 9 assists. While also recording 5 steals and 4 rebounds. In the semifinals, she poured in 19 points against Blanchard. Mapira was a quality guard as a sophomore, but has taken a real leap as a ringleader of a McLoud team with 4A State Tournament aspirations. She's lightning quick as a driver and creator, while also being all action on defense.

The defending Class A State Champions started their season with three straight wins at the Minco Tournament. In the title game, Raasch scored 29 points in their 61-47 win. Impressive scoring performance form the senior, who is expected to help replace the production of graduated guards Hadley Gibson and Averi Carlson. Class A looks to be competitive this year, but clearly the Lady Pirates still have the hearts of champions.
