Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1013457' first='Jayla' last='Lackey'] is playing like Oregon's top power forward prospect, regardless of class. Lackey has a strong and under control inside game. She battles on the offensive glass, bangs in buckets on the bounce through contact, and has a nice midrange jumper. Lackey led Benson in scoring with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a narrow semifinal loss to nationally ranked Etiwanda. She averaged a double-double (13.7 PPG, 10.3 RPG) in the Portland Holiday Classic Diamond bracket.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1013041' first='Kemara' last='Phillips'] is having a strong early season as a starter for Benson. The athletic two-way guard is a playmaker who can run the point, knock down three-pointers, and score in transition. Her pull-up midrange jumper is nice. She put up 15 points and 6 rebounds against nationally ranked Etiwanda in the Holiday Classic Diamond bracket semifinals. Phillips averaged 12.7 points (shooting 47% from the field) and 4.3 rebounds per game at the tournament. She should be ranked in the top ten in Oregon's Class of 2028.

Love Best is so clutch. The underclassman's maturity on the court and poise with the ball continue to impress. Best knocked down a buzzer-beater three-pointer to defeat Washington's 4A reigning champion A.C. Davis in a Holiday Classic Showcase game.
