All eyes will be on Kate Limbaugh tonight for Algona High School in their Regional matchup at home. The Bulldogs (19-4) will invite in Clear Lake (19-4) in a highlight anticipated battle for the Playoffs. When you peak at the lineup for Algona, you note their main contributors on the offense side of the ball but someone who really stands out to be in this battle is their Freshman Center in the middle. Limbaugh comes in at 6'1 and she controls the boards for her group. She has proven herself as a force that opposing team's have to deal with near the bucket. If they don't address her or scout her properly, she is going to walk right through them for simple opportunities at the rim. The reason Limbaugh is so important tonight is because of the individual matchup. She will be placed across from Clear Lake's 6'4 Center, [player_tooltip player_id='867471' first='Ashleigh' last='Amble'], who is coming off of a triple-double in her last outing. Whatever Post player can use their length in the most efficient and craftiest ways tonight is going to play a direct factor in their team's success. Now we just have to wait and see who that is.

Looking for a major game tonight out of [player_tooltip player_id='502091' first='Adalyn' last='Long']. Long is Washington's main offensive threat and she NEEDS to be on the attack if her team wants to have success this evening. Washington will have to play against a tough Tipton Tigers program, that has put together one of their best seasons in school history at 20-2 so far. The Tigers will have the size advantage but Washington will have the Guards to compete to combat that . Long has the ability to shoot off the bounce, off the catch, she can score going to the bucket, or she can use her size in the midrange for easy pull-up action when she is given space. Like we said, Long needs to be on high alert in this one. She has the ability to lead by example and hopefully we see that out there on the hardwood. If she can be commanding and confident in her work, everything else will follow.

Monticello (14-8) will go on the road to face off against Assumption (13-8) in an interesting matchup within the next few hours with the winner moving onto the Regional Championship on Saturday evening. The main producer for the Panthers, that is going to be looked to in some big moments this evening is [player_tooltip player_id='609545' first='Kennedy' last='Hermsen']. Hermsen is someone we haven't spoken too much about this Winter but she is another CG, that is talented for her size/position. She moves well off of the ball and she is very good at understanding how the spacing on the floor works within her team's offenses. Hermsen is not afraid of the spotlight. She is used to it at this point so I'm expecting some big things in this battle. If she plays her cards right and takes what the defense gives her, the Panthers are going to come out successful.

When it's the Playoffs, you have to be at your best. If you don't come prepared every single night it could be your last so it's important that prospects like [player_tooltip player_id='582810' first='Tori' last='Lindsay'] are ready to lead. Lindsay is looking to stay on top with her PCM program. The Mustangs have only fallen once this season (22-1) and they aren't planning on that happening again. Lindsey is the top producer as a scorer and distributor for this group. She gets everyone set up with her high-end communication, always steering people in the right direction when need be. She has also shown that she can get her own when things might end up breaking down and more than half of her attempts have come from behind the three point line so you know that she willing to let it fly whenever she has open space. There are a handful of main producers on this team. If they all take care of business, they should move onto the next round of action but we will see.

[player_tooltip player_id='672168' first='Mylee' last='Stiefel'] is always a prospect to keep an eye on because she is electric when she competes. She loves to let it fly from the outside at a high clip and it's fun to watch when it's going in. Tonight is going to be the test of, how good can Stiefel really be? She is going to need to show us that she is a complete all around player. The opposing program is going to hone in on her right away from their scouting report so she will need to adapt. Others will be open off of her creation and off of her presence alone on the outside. If she uses that correctly against them, someone is going to be getting a whole bunch of buckets near the hoop in return when she drags the defense to the outside with her. If the defense doesn't end up doubling, then she knows it's time to go to work. This game is going to be a tight one. Whoever plays with more of a, "team", concept first should come out on top.
