Franken is committed to SDSU to compete following her high school career at Sioux Center High School. Prior to this commitment, she had interest from several D1 level programs across the Midwest because of her mixture of size, guard like skill, and adaptability. At the high school level this is a prospect that can be moved between the 3, 4, and 5 positions. She could even move to the 2 if need be because she is smooth enough. She is a 6'0 SF that knows how to produce. She cleans up near the hoop at a high rate on both ends of the floor and she can defend with the best of them. When you pair all of that with a fundamental jumper, you get someone who is going to be able to produce at the collegiate level one day as well. Franken has one more season of high school ball left and I'm sure she is going to look to make the most of it.

I love the move that [player_tooltip player_id='677842' first='Tylee' last='Weite'] has made moving into this AAU season. She will now be competing out of Minnesota with Minnesota Fury 17U GUAA for her last Spring season on the road. Weite is known as a D1 level, knock down shooter. She can make it rain off the catch and when she lets it fly, the net barely moves because it's so pure. I'm hoping that this Spring Weite will have a chance to show what else she has in her arsenal on the offensive end. She is a good handler of the ball, solid vision, she can create off of the dribble, and she can finish at the hoop on either side so as long as she isn't settling she should be able to thrive over the next couple of months. You have to remember that this is someone with multiple D1 offers at this time so you know she is going to bring it every time she laces up her kicks.

We have been saying that this AAU season is an important one for the 2027 Class and that is true because the AAU season is very important when it's your last chance to show what you can do for college coaches on the road. Someone who is looking to make the most of this opportunity is [player_tooltip player_id='764451' first='Macey' last='O'Brien']. O'Brien, the 5'10 PG, is another player that is switching AAU programs moving into this Spring. She will now compete with [program_tooltip program_id='712617' first='Lady' last='Pure Prep'] out of the DSM area on the New Balance Circuit. She should be one of their best overall prospects so I expect her to get a big share of the workload on both sides of the ball with this group. She currently holds one D1 offer and interest from a few others. If she shows her worth at a sustainable rate over the next month or so, I'm sure she will have more interest from the next level, prior to her commitment.

[player_tooltip player_id='863281' first='Hallie' last='Vander Weerdt'] was hurt the past season so we didn't get a chance to see what she could do but this is around the time that she should be getting back active on the court and she is still considered one of the best Forwards within the 2027 Class. Prior to the injury, Weerdt was grabbing interest from all levels, from all over the Midwest. Overall, she has true size at 6'1 and she has better coordination than most at her position. She has demonstrated in the past that her soft touch and reach are too much for anyone under 6'0 unless they can use her physicality to attempt to push her around to move her off the blocks as much as possible. It's going to take a few weeks to figure out who is really interested in Vander Weerdt again but I have a feeling that won't be an issue. Once everyone witnesses that she is back to her old self running down the court, the rest will be history. She just needs to keep doing her thing within the process.

[player_tooltip player_id='655384' first='Campbell' last='Schulz'] is committed to compete at UNI after next season at North Polk High School. Schulz is a natural. More than most. She plays intently at the guard position, primarily moving between the 2 and the 3 position. She is efficient with her dribble and she can play off the ball as a shooter off the catch. She is very good at understanding her team's offensive system and moving into open space whenever that system might end up breaking down throughout a possession. I'm hoping Schulz is a house name over the next few years with the Panthers. They are bringing in a lot of in-state recruits in their upcoming recruiting Classes and Schulz could be one of the best if she sticks with it.
