The Headliners Invitational Showcase was a groundbreaking experience for the girls' basketball community in 2023. The second offering in October of 2025 was even better. We want to bring this showcase to different regions of Michigan, so girls from coast to coast have an opportunity to participate. Our next stop is Summit Academy North High School in Romulus on March 22nd! My definition of a prospective showcase includes three elements: 1) College-caliber players, 2) College Coaches, and 3) Media Exposure from a respected source within the high school girls basketball recruiting arena. The Headliners Invitational checks all three boxes, and then some. All colleges in the state of Michigan and many bordering states were provided details about the showcase, including a registration list. We believe these girls can help programs at the next level, and I'm so encouraged by the college coaches who continue to support this event! The high school and middle school sessions sold out within weeks of opening registration, underscoring the community's desire for this format and confidence in the host to deliver a valuable experience.

Following the precedent set by Prep Girls Hoops, EVERY prospect attending the Headliners Invitational Showcase will be included in a post-event article. Prospects wear numbered reversibles to make media coverage and evaluation as easy as possible. College coaches who pre-registered were sent a digital recruiting packet with all the information necessary to evaluate in the gym and contact prospects afterwards. The event format is EXACTLY what I believe needs to be present to 1) Thoroughly evaluate a prospect, 2) Fully demonstrate a prospect's recruitable qualities, and 3) Cultivate a connection with college coaches. Everything about this showcase is intentional, and nothing is being done haphazardly. College coaches will lead prospects during the skill stations and coach the players during games. Maximum ball touches have been built into this event through stations, 3v3, and 5v5 play. There will be a Headliners Invitational MVP selected for both sessions. All participants take an event t-shirt home with them, and a special edition T-shirt will be given to our showcase MVPs.

I firmly believe that there is a perfect recruiting match for every college and skill prospect attending this event. The anticipation is building, so...without further ado, let's take a sneak peek at point guard prospects competing during session one at the [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] "Headliners Invitational Showcase"!

Katelyn received OAA Red First Team honors. She averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 steals, and 3.1 assists, while making 55 threes for Oxford this season. Katelyn has shifty handles, penetrates gaps, finishes with touch, and can light it up from beyond the arc. She's an effective facilitator with a nose for the ball on the defensive end. Katelyn is a talented point guard prospect college coaches are going to pay attention to at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

My goal at every event is to put a talented high school player who doesn't compete on the travel circuit directly in front of college coaches. Alexis is one of those prospects who is a perfect fit for many of the college programs attending, and this will most likely be the first time most coaches see her play. Alexis is a 1,000-point scorer from Imlay City who can slash to the rim, push the pace with her dribble, create steals, and rip the nets from beyond the arc when she gets hot. She's a playmaker I've enjoyed watching throughout her career, and I'm very excited to have her competing in front of college coaches at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

My eyes lit up when I saw Brooklyn's name on the registration list. She is the top-rated point guard coming into the event with the fundamental skill set and instincts necessary to excel as the lead guard, while also being capable of playing off the ball. Playing off the ball is a rare commodity at the high school level and an attribute that will make her an asset right away in college. Brooklyn's game translates to the college level, and she's excelled in every area of competition (elite camps, high school games, AAU) during my many evaluations of her over the past year. She scores at all three levels, defends, facilitates, finishes, has the ball on a string, and carries herself with a confident humility. Brooklyn looks ready to turn heads at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday.

Gabby seems to always perform at a high level in showcase environments, and she'll be a top 2028 point guard prospect to watch at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday. Gabby set a new single-season school record with over 94 steals for Columbia Central this season and helped the team win a District title. She's a dynamic guard who can finish shots from difficult angles inside at the rim and score off platform floaters. Gabby has an accurate three-point jumper and keeps her hands active to rack up steals on defense. She's a playmaker that'll be exciting to see on the court.

I tuned into the Dearborn vs. Bedford Regional Final online and Mia was definitely a deciding factor in the game. She stepped into three-pointers from well beyond the arc and buried three of them. Mia demonstrated precise ball-handling control, applied pressure on defense, and had excellent touch on her entry passes into the low post. Her 13 points were crucial to securing the victory and advancing to the quarterfinal round. Mia is a freshman playmaker I'm very excited to see for the first time in person at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

Sydney blew me away when I saw her play for the first time with Lansing Catholic at the Hemlock Holiday Showcase. She's a pesky defender, shifty ball-handler, great facilitator, and confident three-point shooter. Sydney creates shots for herself and teammates. She has those prototypical point guard instincts that you want, and that's why I believe Sydney will be very successful at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

Lily had another productive season for Regina and helped the Saddleites win a District title.
Mallory is a guard who caught my eye on the court last fall, and I'm excited to see her again at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday. She excelled for Groves as a freshman, putting up huge numbers in their high-octane, run-and-gun offense. Mallory averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. She made an eye-popping 69 threes and earned OAA White All-League honors. Mallory made 30.9% of her attempts from beyond the arc and a very efficient 56% from 2PT.

Remmi has outstanding court vision, makes the effort plays, finishes with balance in traffic, works hard defensively, pushes the tempo, has great ball-handling control, and shoots accurately from beyond the arc.
