With the school season now over, the AAU summer hoop season is a bout to start up. Here are a few point guards in the class of 2027 who could stamp themselves as elite players before the start of the 2026-2027 school season.

Bradley Central is losing a big chunk of its rotation players in the class of 2026. With that, players will have to step up next season. One player who definitely can, and has the potential to do so in a big way, is point guard [player_tooltip player_id='743733' first='Kiley' last='Johnson'].

Johnson, in her junior season, provided several things for Bradley Central. She can score at all three levels and is notably an elite passer. Johnson has great speed, too, to pair with her three-level scoring. This allows her to maneuver past defenders and get to where she wants to create shots better than the bulk of the guards in her class.

Her ceiling as a player in the class of 2027 is uber high. She definitely has the potential to be a big riser in the Prep Girls Hoops ranks in the future.

Guard for Lipscomb Academy. [player_tooltip player_id='822231' first='Macey' last='Hunter'] had a solid junior season.

Hunter was a big part of Lipscomb, having an overall record of 27-8 last season. She is a big perimeter shooting threat and a scrappy defender. In the totality of the school season, Hunter had multiple games with either two or more steals or two or more makes from distance.

Her ability to stick with her assignment on defense is notable. She is able to do the following with her elite lateral movement. When it comes to Hunter's shooting, she is good at catch-and-shoot actions. She also has a high arc on her jumper, making her shot hard to contest and block.

[player_tooltip player_id='981285' first='Derryn' last='Goode'] stamped herself as one of the better defenders in her sophomore season, and her high-level defense continued in her junior year.

Goode provides little to no space between her and the player she is guarding. She can play this close with her quick reactions and general speed. This same speed of hers is seen on offense.

Goode, when she is dribbling downhill towards the basket, is one of the most difficult players to catch up with on defense in the class of 2027. More often than not in fastbreak scenarios, no defender can catch up to her. Goode also has a hop step and euro step in her bag that allows her to stun defenders and still create an open shot if they step in her path while she is attacking the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239817' first='Anniya' last='Bailey']'s all-around game played a big role in Bartlett High School making the state tournament this season.

Bailey is a type of player all coaches want on their team. Whether her shot is falling or not, she always finds a way to have a positive impact on the game.

Bailey, as a player, has a lethal perimeter shot, is an above-average rebounder at the guard position, and an above-average playmaker. Bailey is an extremely unselfish player and just does whatever is needed to give her team the best chance to win.

A game this season that highlighted Bailey's vast skill set was a game against Arlington High School. In the contest, she had seven points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='780456' first='Jules' last='Ferrell'] is ranked as the #14 player in her class for a reason.

One of the things that stands out and makes Ferrell such a good player is her off-ball movement. She is constantly waiting for openings where she can backdoor her defender, and when she is located on these chances, she converts them into buckets at a high rate. Ferrell, as well as being a great cutter, is an amazing three-point shooter.

In a game against Battle Ground Academy this season, Ferrell had six made 3-pointers.
