After actively evaluating prospects during the high school season, we now have 425 juniors listed, with 270 ranked heading into the AAU season. Height, size, speed, athleticism, fundamental skill development, the position a player is projected to play at the next level, and performance in different competitive settings are all taken into account. Our goal with every class is to accurately group prospects into the correct categories of college potential/projection. By the end of senior year, each class breaks down into clear categories: Power Four/D1+, D1/D2+, D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, NAIA/D3/JUCO, and NAIA/D3 reserve. As I've written many times, the levels of college basketball intersect, cross, and differ in competitive ability throughout all the divisions. All high school classes do not have the same size, talent, or level of college talent. However, based on my tracking of commitments the past three years, there appears to be a predictable trend in Michigan.

Taking data from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes into consideration, there could be approximately 410 prospects per grade who can play some level of college basketball. There will always be multisport athletes who don't play travel basketball or play in some remote area where we just don't get the opportunity to identify them for our rankings, despite our best efforts. Using averages from the past three classes, my expectations moving forward are that there could be anywhere from 10-20 D1 commits, 20-30 D2 commits, and 125-140 NAIA/D3/JUCO commits in a particular class. Applying that understanding to our rankings basically means that, depending on the class, the top 20 ranked prospects project as D1/D2+, 21-50 D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, 51 and beyond could range anywhere from NAIA/D3 varsity, NAIA/D3 reserve, or JUCO, depending on the college program.

Ryenn was the most dominant forward in the gym at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase, resulting in an All-Showcase First Team selection and an offer from Lake Michigan College. She received Flint Metro League All-Conference First Team honors, averaging 12.6 points, seven rebounds, and 5.5 blocks per game for the Eagles. She became the 23rd player in MHSAA history to surpass 300 career blocks and has continued to perform at a high level to start the AAU season. Ryenn was a Top Performer at the PGH MI College Tour with Mystics 17U S40, finishing well in the paint, protecting the rim, and securing rebounds on both ends. Her performance against high-level forwards during the tournament, unique mobility/length, and fundamental skills solidified her place in the top 25.

Reece turned in an All-Conference First Team junior campaign for Thornapple Kellogg, averaging double-digit points and rebounds per game. She's long, athletic, powerful in the paint, and can knock down perimeter shots. Reece has the strength and footwork to win one-on-one in the post with her back to the basket. She can face up and attack downhill from the perimeter, then finish through contact. Reece competes with a high motor and will be a versatile forward to watch with MBA UA Rise this spring. She holds offers from Aquinas and Spring Arbor.

McKinsey turned in a productive junior year for Canton, receiving All-Conference KLAA recognition. She can face up and attack off the dribble, or use effective pivoting footwork with her back to the basket to score in the low post. McKinsey moves very well for her size, has a long/athletic frame, uses her length to block shots, and can knock down shots from the perimeter.

Colbie averaged 12.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for Morenci, receiving TCC All-League First Team honors. Her postseason play helped the Buldogs reach the State Semifinals, where they lost a nail-biter to eventual State Champion Ishpeming. Colbie was outstanding in that game, taking on the toughest defensive assignment. She led the offensive charge with 18 points and added seven rebounds. Colbie received D4 All-Breslin Team honors and solidified herself as a top 50 prospect. She holds offers from Spring Arbor and Michigan Dearborn.

Gabrielle was productive in her role for Howell as a junior, and she's having a strong start to the AAU season with [program_tooltip program_id='714556' first='TC' last='Elite']. Gabrielle was a top performer at the PGH MI College Tour. Her complete impact as a shot blocker, rebounder, interior scorer, screener, and teammate earned recognition. Gabrielle works hard to get inside positioning and give teammates a passing target in the low post. Her length is difficult to match up against. She holds an offer from Adrian College and will be a true 6-foot-plus center coaches need to see on the PGH Circuit this spring.

Mady had a great day at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase, earning an All-Showcase Third Team selection. Her versatility as an inside/outside forward who finishes with a soft touch at the rim, physicality in the post, high IQ passing, determined rebounding, and shot blocking on the defensive end particularly stood out. Mady has made a great impression on us throughout the years, standing out as a fundamentally skilled, physical, and versatile forward who can handle the ball, pick and roll to the basket, or pop out to hit perimeter shots. She committed to Kalamazoo College recently, and I believe she's going to be a very impactful player in their program.
