A very talented forward that does a great job of running the floor and being an impact presence on the court. Her athleticism jumps off the chart when you watch her run and rebound. She is a natural leaper which shows up in the stat category under rebounds and blocks. Newby is very active on the defensive end causing a lot of havoc from her deflections. Offensively, she likes to attack the rim aggressively.

Newby is a dynamic wing with length, skill, and the ability to impact the game on both ends. She creates offense as both a scorer and facilitator while thriving in transition. Her defensive activity and upside give her one of the highest ceilings in the class.

Newby was one of the most complete guards on the floor, showcasing her ability to control the game as both a scorer and facilitator. She knocked down perimeter shots while also creating offense off the dribble, keeping defenders off balance. As a primary ball handler, she consistently set up teammates, showing strong vision and decision making as an assist leader. Newby displayed creativity finishing around the rim, including advanced touch on difficult layups. She also generated offense in transition, pushing the pace and converting opportunities. Defensively, she was disruptive, creating steals that led directly into scoring chances. Her ability to impact both ends made her a difference maker. Newby’s all around skill set stood out at the highest level of competition.

Newby’s length and scoring ability make her one of the more dynamic wings in the class. She thrives in transition and creates turnovers defensively. Expect her to continue producing at a high level this spring.

Great length and wingspan for a guard/wing! Great upside you tell she has natural raw ability with a very high ceiling. She can operate around the mid-range area and can take her opponents to the basket off the dribble. Keeps her hands active at the defensive end of the floor, looking to get steals and deflections to turn defense into offense. She was tied with 21.7 points per game that led all freshmen.  

Newby emerged as one of the most dynamic freshmen in Class 1, impacting the game with her ability to push the pace and create in transition. she handles the ball with confidence, navigating through defenders and finishing at the rim through contact with strong body control and footwork. Her activity on the glass allows her to generate double-double performances, adding value beyond her scoring. Defensively, Newby’s instincts and quick hands create turnovers that quickly turn into fast break opportunities. Her ability to convert defense into offense makes her a constant threat and a key piece for Surry County moving forward.

Is a strong power forward who imposes her will on defense and offense. She plays with a lot of physicality in the paint. She rebounds well both offensively and defensively, she has good endurance and runs the floor hard in transition to get to the block for layups. A capable player in her first year in high school is the teams leading scorer at 19 points per game!

A physically gifted athlete that is still a raw basketball player. She has already shown early flashes with her basketball game. She won MVP at the Assist top 48 Camp with some good talent in the building. A player that can still develop on the offensive end, coming in as a freshman she may be arguably the best player on her high school team.

Great size if she plays the wing position full time Dabria has great mobility for her position. Great length and athleticism, she is very tough to stop from the wing when going to the cup. Good IQ she can push and run the transition fast break. Versatile player on defense she understands how to read passing lanes for steals and can push the ball up the floor! Coming off a MVP performance at the Assist Student Athletes showcase game she will no doubt be a day one starter at her high school next season!
