Getting it Done in the Travel Period

In this article, we look at a wide variety of players from several programs who have put together strong grassroots seasons thus far. Recently, each of these players delivered quality performances in their respective tournaments, impacting games in different ways. Some were knocking down threes, others were getting to the rim, playing high-level defense, blocking shots, showing versatility, and making winning plays all over the floor. No matter the style, each player found ways to contribute to team success and help their squads get it done.    [player_tooltip player_id='973912' first='Emily' last='Wilson'] has been one of the more impressive performers this spring. She is attacking with confidence, getting to the rim, finishing in transition, and showing advanced shot-making at all three levels. Wilson handles the ball well, knocks down the three, and is especially dangerous in the midrange where she creates space and rises smoothly. Around the basket, she finishes with either hand and adds touch, creativity, and “sauce” to tough angles. Her footwork stands out, as she consistently gains leverage on defenders and scores at a high clip. Right now, she looks polished, productive, and tough to contain.     [player_tooltip player_id='1313764' first='Nyla' last='Parsons'] has been playing very well and showing growth in multiple areas of her game. She continues to be known for attacking the rim and thriving in transition, where her speed and aggressiveness put pressure on defenses. Parsons is playing with strong pace, getting downhill, and finishing with touch even in traffic while weaving around defenders. What has stood out even more is her development in the point guard role. She is handling the ball with confidence, making good reads, and creating opportunities for teammates with timely passing. Parsons is showing she can score while also facilitating, which adds another layer to her game. When she is pushing tempo, making plays, and attacking gaps, she becomes a tough matchup and a player who can control stretches of the game.     [player_tooltip player_id='1363115' first='Chloe' last='Spencer-Gardner'] has been highly effective with the way she is impacting both ends of the floor. She is running the floor well, filling lanes in transition, and knocking down the three efficiently when given space. Off the ball, Spencer-Gardner moves with purpose, finds openings, and consistently puts herself in position to score. Defensively, she has played well - locking up opponents on the perimeter, and making it difficult for them to get to the rim. Spencer- Gardner is also also sneaky shot blocker and generally gets a few blocks on transition defense. Her two-way production, motor, and versatility make her a player who continues to stand out.     Londo Williams has been getting it done and was more than solid in recent action. Williams has turned heads with a complete skillset that includes eceptional ball handling, court vision, the ability to distribute, and the ability to score the ball in multiple ways. Williams's drives to the rim were impressive moves. She uses the hesitation move, several crossover moves, and a kliller floater to get the ball in the rim. In transition, the young guard is dynamic and can finish with the left and right hand. Defensively, Williams does an excellent job playing in the passing lanes and getting steals. From there she knows what to do with it- turn defense into offense. Williams is one of the most exciting young players in the 2029 class and she definitely is getting the job done.     [player_tooltip player_id='897274' first='Bryonna' last='Grimes'] recently shot the cover off the ball and is regaining the shootng touch that made her one of the top shoters in the 2027 class and on the First Coast. Grimes shoots the ball in great rhythm and when she gets hot, she can string up a few shots in a hurry. In addditoin tho shootiong the three, Grimes has shown an ability to get to the rim and score through contact.     [player_tooltip player_id='1308934' first='Kaitlyn' last='Farr'] had it cooking recently scoring in every way imaginable. Farr shot the three in offensive sets, shot the three in transition, and got to the rim and scored going left and right. Defensively, Farr pestered ball handlers on the perimeter and she defended the paint well with timely blocked shots. Farr has good length and her shot blocking ability is a strong part of her game. She is getting the job done and we looking to see her up close in the weeks to come.
