2028 Rankings Update: Consistency is Key

There was not a lot of movement a the top of the 2028 rankings for two reasons: those players have continued to excel at the highest level on whatever shoe or independent circuit their teams play on and Georgia is blessed to have some of the VERY best rising Juniors in the country within our borders. A couple of these players having a chance to be on basketball cards one day. So just because a player didn't move does not mean they have not been playing exceptionally well. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='926800' first='Ansley' last='Dunn'] have received two division two offers in the last month and she was excellent when I watched her team play at Peach Games. In almost any other state she would have moved up. However, players like [player_tooltip player_id='899814' first='Leah' last='DeWitt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='910012' first='Loriel' last='Murray'], who already had multiple Power Four offers before playing with AEBL again this Spring and Summer, keep racking up more because of how well they are playing on the EYBL circuit.    Ansley was fantastic for [program_tooltip program_id='713173' first='Wood' last='Elite'] at Peach Games playing up in the 17U division. Specifically, she was very good running her team, while scoring the ball in impressive fashion. A continuation of her impressive play from other events like Live at Lakepoint, in front of multiple college coaches. Afer her her performances there she was rewarded with offers from in-state division two schools Young Harris and Middle Georgia. That list will continue to grow over the next two years. Once one of the best sleepers in the class in Georgia, Ansley has forced college coaches to take notice sooner than some may have thought. She was excellent all season for Cherokee and that has continued over into the Spring and Summer.     I have been screaming for the last year that even though [player_tooltip player_id='899814' first='Leah' last='DeWitt'] has a stack of high level division one offers, she is still underrated nationally. This travel ball season has been spent on the main courts with backcourt mate [player_tooltip player_id='899789' first='Morghan' last='Reckley'] and on that stage she has shined resulting in recent offers from Iowa State, Virginia, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan State, and USC in May alone. Leah recently returned from the USA basketball trials in Colorado Springs. She is one of the very best 2028 prospect in the nation and it's great to see her getting the love on that level!     I was at the game when Jazmin got injured during the regular season for Newton. I did not know then that it would essentially put a halt to her sophomore season at the time. Maddox had put together a very nice string of performances in recent games before going down and really was taking her game to the next level. It was great to see that she was recently offered by East Carolina to go along with previous offers from Wake Forest, Dayton, Furman, and several other division one schools. She had a lot of positive momentum going her way prior to the injury, but she has come back strong and her play at Prime Events and the first two EYBL sessions has been as good or better than expected. She is a threat the score the ball from all three levels and possesses a lot of different weapons in her offensive arsenal.     Millie has thrived playing with [program_tooltip program_id='1237402' first='HER' last='Elite'] 16U EYBL off the ball in the games I have seen her play. She has done a great job keeping the defense guessing with a balanced scoring attack from the perimeter and causing problems with dribble penetration. Newman is one of the better shooters in Georgia and she shoot the ball with confidence and at a very high percentages in those games. She also got to the basket and scored the ball herself or dumped it off to her two talented post players, Athiel Dhal and [player_tooltip player_id='1238106' first='Taryn' last='Dixon']. She also has partnered very well in the backcourt with '29 blue chip prospect [player_tooltip player_id='991134' first='Carib' last='Morris']. Newman had offers from Yale and App State and added to the list picking up another in the last week from Jacksonville State. Injury prevented her from playing at Brawl at the Palms, but she should be back for the next Nike session.     Blaklee is another of the very talented point guards at the top of the 2028 rankings, sitting just outside of the top ten. She, also, has continued her excellent play this AAU season with Redline coming off a win in the state championship game with Murray County. Ledford scores with ease from the perimeter and is equally dangerous getting to the basket off the bounce. She is a very good athlete with sneaky ball handling who has no trouble creating the space necessary to get her shot off. She is an excellent distributor of the ball and on ball defender who has one unofficial offer from a division two school in the state. College coaches should not make the mistake of waiting to show serious interest and offer her like they did her sister Callen this past year. Several who I have spoken with have expressed their regret about that decision!     Jadyn has continued to show why she is not just one of the very best shooters in Georgia, but the entire southeast region playing. on the S40 circuit with Select Events. As a result she has received the interest of several schools both in Georgia and neighboring states and will have a busy Summer and Fall visiting schools and playing in Elite camps. She has also continued to show she is not just a threat from behind the three point line, routinely scoring baskets on backdoor cuts, finishing on the break in transition, and knocking down midrange jumpers (specifically from the elbow). She is a sneaky athlete who can guard her position and does not turn the ball over. She is a consistent and reliable player who I think will have a huge month of June with Denmark as players return to scholastic basketball.     Makenzie recently called game and knocked down a three point shot to beat a very good WV Thunder Perry team in a game that I was watching at Lakepoint. She was outstanding in the game against a highly thought of point guard from Indiana, Maddy Wallace, who has multiple college offers already. Tiny played an excellent game leading up to the game winner against very good competition in her head to head matchup. She has been very good in every game I have seen her play coming off a very good season with Holy Innocents in high school ball. She is a player to watch the next time the rankings are updated, as she could see a big move up with continued stellar play.
