This spring, I had the opportunity to watch the new [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] program compete at both a Prep Girls Hoops event and the Prime Event Midwest. From top to bottom, [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] showed why they are quickly becoming a program that college coaches and people around the Midwest should continue to pay attention to.

What stood out most about [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] was the talent throughout every level of the program. From the 15U squad all the way up to the 17U EYBL team, each group brought something different to the floor while still playing with toughness, energy, and confidence. The coaching staff across every level has done a great job building teams that compete hard, play together, and understand their roles. One thing I really enjoyed watching was how every team had its own identity. Some groups relied heavily on speed and guard play, while others were more physical and strong inside. No matter the style, every team competed at a high level and never backed down from competition.

Overall, [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] had a very successful showing this spring and proved they have talent throughout the entire program. The future looks bright for the organization, and it will be exciting to continue watching the growth of these teams and players throughout the travel season. College coaches should definitely keep [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] on their radar moving forward.

[program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] 15U EYBL

The 15U group showed a lot of promise with their athleticism, energy, and overall competitiveness throughout the weekend. From the opening tip, this team played with great effort and intensity on both ends of the floor. Defensively, they were very active, applying pressure on the basketball, forcing turnovers, and making opposing teams uncomfortable. Their ability to turn defense into offense really helped them create momentum during games.

One thing that stood out about this group was how well they played in transition. They have multiple players who can grab a rebound and push the basketball up the floor, which allowed them to play fast and create easy scoring opportunities. Their guards did a great job attacking gaps, making reads, and creating opportunities not only for themselves but for their teammates as well. They showed confidence with the basketball and were not afraid of big moments. Another thing I liked about this group was their chemistry and willingness to play together. Players celebrated each other's success, communicated well, and competed hard every possession. For a younger team, they showed a lot of maturity and composure in different situations.

Overall, this 15U group looks like a team that will continue to improve and develop over the next few years. The combination of athleticism, toughness, guard play, and energy gives them a strong foundation moving forward. As these players continue to gain experience and confidence, this could become a very dangerous group on the travel circuit.

I first saw Brooklyn play last spring, and I was very impressed with the level of play she displayed on both ends of the floor. From the moment she stepped on the court, her confidence, toughness, and overall feel for the game stood out right away. She competes with a high motor and plays with the type of energy that impacts the game in multiple ways.

Brooklyn has a solid frame at the guard position and does a great job using her strength to her advantage. Whether she is attacking the basket, defending on the perimeter, or fighting through contact, she plays with physicality and does not back down from competition. Her ability to stay balanced and under control allows her to make strong plays offensively while also being effective defensively.

At the Prep Girls Hoops event, Brooklyn really showed her ability to consistently knock down shots from the perimeter while also attacking the rim with confidence. She did a good job creating scoring opportunities for herself and played with great pace throughout the games I watched. Defenders had a tough time keeping her in front because of how strong she is getting downhill. Brooklyn will be a very good addition to the Hamilton Southeastern varsity program, and her future looks bright moving forward.

I've always heard the last name “Smalligan,” which is definitely a unique name, and now another talented player from the family is starting to make her own name known. Maddie Smalligan, the younger sister of 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='999424' first='Ellie' last='Smalligan'], is quickly proving that she has a very bright future ahead of her.

I first saw Maddie play this past junior high basketball season alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1818003' first='Brooklyn' last='Bizila'], and she immediately stood out because of her skill level, confidence, and ability to make plays offensively. Even at a young age, Maddie plays with a great feel for the game and understands how to create opportunities for herself and her teammates.

What impressed me most was how quick she is with the basketball when attacking the rim. Maddie does a great job changing speeds, getting defenders off balance, and using her quickness to get downhill. Once she gets into the paint, she finishes with confidence and plays under control. She does not look rushed offensively and already shows advanced footwork and body control for her age. As she continues to grow physically and develop her game, Maddie Smalligan is definitely a name people around the state should continue to keep an eye on in the coming years.

I first saw Arianna play at the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase, and she was easily one of the best players in the gym that day. From the moment she stepped on the floor, her intensity, confidence, and ability to impact the game stood out immediately. She plays with a competitive edge that makes her difficult for opponents to contain and brings energy every possession.

Every time I've had the opportunity to watch her play — whether it was with her AAU team last season, watching her high school games online, or seeing her again during this AAU season — she consistently brings the same level of toughness and intensity to the game. That consistency is one of the things that separates her from many players in her class. She competes hard, plays with confidence, and never looks intimidated by the moment or the level of competition.

Arianna does a great job scoring the basketball and has proven she can put up numbers against strong competition. She can score in multiple ways, whether it is attacking the basket, finishing through contact, or knocking down perimeter shots. What I like most about her offensive game is how aggressive she is while still staying under control. She understands how to create space, get to her spots, and make defenders uncomfortable.

I was able to watch two of her games online during EYBL Session 2, and she averaged 16.8 points per game throughout the session. That level of production on a stage like EYBL says a lot about her skill set and confidence as a scorer. She looked comfortable competing against high-level talent and continued to make plays offensively throughout the weekend.

[program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] 16U EYBL

The 16U team impressed me with their overall balance, chemistry, and ability to play together as a unit. From watching them throughout the weekend, it was clear this was a group that trusted one another and understood how to play team basketball. They communicated well defensively, rotated with purpose, and consistently played with energy and effort on every possession. Their connection on the floor allowed them to stay competitive in different situations and respond well when momentum shifted during games.

One of the biggest strengths of this team was their guard play. They had guards who could control the pace, handle pressure, and make smart decisions with the basketball. Whether it was creating offense in the half court, attacking downhill, or knocking down perimeter shots, the guards did a great job leading this team. They also competed hard defensively and set the tone with their toughness and intensity. What stood out most about this group was their consistency and composure. No matter the situation, they continued to compete possession after possession without losing focus. In close games and pressure moments, they stayed calm, executed well, and trusted each other. That maturity is something that separates good teams from teams that can truly compete at a high level.

Another thing I enjoyed watching was their unselfishness. The ball moved well offensively, players made the extra pass, and everyone seemed willing to do whatever was needed to help the team win. They did not rely on just one player to carry the load, which made them even tougher to defend.

Overall, the 16U team looks like a very complete group with a lot of potential moving forward. Their balance, versatility, toughness, and team chemistry make them a team that should continue to gain attention throughout the spring and summer. As they continue to build experience together, this group has a chance to become one of the stronger teams on the circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267070' first='Lillian' last='Clark'] continues to show steady, noticeable growth each time she steps on the court, and her development as a perimeter threat has become one of the most encouraging parts of her game. The biggest jump in her skill set has been her shooting, specifically the speed of her release. She's getting into her shot quicker and with more confidence, which has made a real difference in how defenses have to guard her. Even a small window of space now turns into a legitimate scoring opportunity for her, which wasn't always the case before.

Beyond just the mechanics of her shot, Clark is starting to understand how to create better rhythm within the flow of the offense. She moves well without the ball, finds soft spots in the defense, and is learning how to time her cuts to get clean looks. That off-ball awareness is helping her become more efficient rather than just relying on tough or late-clock shots. When she gets into a rhythm, she can string together quick scoring bursts that shift momentum for her team.

Defensively and in transition, she continues to show effort and willingness to compete, which adds to her overall value. As her confidence grows and she continues to add strength and consistency, her offensive ceiling is trending upward. College coaches should take note of her improvement curve, especially with how quickly her shot development is translating into production.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263963' first='Riley' last='Suarez'] made a strong impression at the Prime Event Midwest with her combination of size, skill, and scoring versatility. Playing with a 16U group, she stood out as someone who could consistently create offense in a variety of ways, whether that was inside the paint or stepping out to operate from midrange and beyond. Her ability to score “just about anywhere she wanted” wasn't an exaggeration it reflected how comfortable she looked reading different defensive coverages and attacking mismatches.

What makes Suarez especially difficult to defend is that her size doesn't limit her mobility or skill level. She is able to handle the basketball well enough to initiate offense when needed and has the coordination to attack defenders off the dribble. In the half court, she showed patience and control, not forcing shots but instead getting to her spots and finishing plays efficiently. Around the rim, she used her frame well to absorb contact and still convert at a high rate.

She also showed flashes of being able to impact the game without always needing the ball in her hands, which is important at the next level. Whether it was sealing position inside, running the floor in transition, or spacing the floor, Suarez found ways to stay involved. As she continues to refine consistency and defensive engagement, she has the tools to become a matchup problem at every level she plays. Players with her size and scoring range naturally draw attention, and she backed that up with her performance at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263952' first='Savayah' last='Mitchell'] continues to separate herself as one of the top players in her class, and it starts with the competitive edge she brings every time she steps on the floor. There is a noticeable intensity in how she plays—she doesn't take possessions off, and she consistently sets the tone for her team on both ends. That level of competitiveness alone makes her a difficult matchup, but it's only part of what makes her such a high-level prospect.

Offensively, Mitchell has a strong understanding of how to control the game. She plays with pace and purpose, never appearing rushed even when pressure increases. She has a natural ability to read the floor and make decisions that put her teammates in the best position to succeed. Whether she's initiating offense, running actions in the half court, or pushing tempo in transition, she consistently makes winning plays. Her passing ability stands out, especially in how she delivers the ball on time and in the right spots, allowing others to finish plays cleanly.

What also stands out is her leadership presence. Mitchell doesn't just play well individually she elevates everyone around her through communication, energy, and accountability. Defensively, she stays active, competes at the point of attack, and understands how to disrupt opposing offenses without gambling unnecessarily. That two-way impact is a big reason she's regarded so highly in her class. As she continues to develop physically and sharpen her skill set, her overall ceiling remains extremely high, and she already plays with the type of maturity that college programs value early in the recruiting process.

[program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] 17U EYBL

The 17U EYBL team brought experience, physicality, and a very high level of basketball IQ every time they stepped on the floor. This group looked comfortable competing against high-level competition and played with the confidence and maturity you expect from an EYBL team. They understood how to control the flow of the game, execute in important moments, and consistently make the right basketball plays.

One thing that immediately stood out was how well this team played together offensively. The ball movement was very impressive throughout the weekend, and players were willing to make the extra pass to create better scoring opportunities. They did not force bad shots and showed patience within their offense. Their ability to move without the basketball, space the floor, and attack mismatches made them difficult to guard. This team also played with great pace. They knew when to push the basketball in transition and when to slow things down and execute in the half court. Their guards controlled the tempo extremely well and made smart decisions with the basketball. Whether it was getting downhill, creating for teammates, or knocking down perimeter shots, the backcourt consistently kept pressure on opposing defenses.

Another thing I really liked about this team was their willingness to make winning plays. They had players diving for loose balls, battling for rebounds, taking charges, and doing all the little things that often determine close games. That type of effort and toughness reflects the culture that has been built within the program. The leadership and experience on this roster were also noticeable. Players stayed composed in pressure situations and never seemed rattled when games became competitive. Their communication, energy, and confidence helped keep the team focused throughout the weekend.

Overall, the [program_tooltip program_id='1307580' first='Indy' last='One'] 17U EYBL team looked like a very strong and well-rounded group with talent across the roster. Their combination of basketball IQ, toughness, skill, and team chemistry makes them a team that college coaches should continue to monitor closely throughout the travel season.

Amirah Jordan, also known as “Tootie,” was one of the most impactful guards and overall players across the two events watched. Her presence on the floor stood out immediately because of how naturally she can control stretches of the game on both ends. Jordan has a way of playing with confidence that doesn't feel forced; she dictates tempo, finds scoring opportunities within the flow, and consistently puts pressure on defenses.

What really separates her is her ability to score at a high level in a variety of ways. She doesn't rely on one look or one area of the floor—she can create off the dribble, finish through contact, and knock down shots when defenders try to back off. That versatility forces defenses to constantly adjust, and more often than not, she finds the answer anyway.

Beyond the scoring, Jordan's ranking makes sense when you actually see how she competes possession to possession. She plays with a competitive edge, doesn't shy away from big moments, and shows the type of assertiveness that translates well against higher-level competition. When she is engaged and aggressive, she becomes one of the toughest covers in the gym.

Kenzie Koch is one of those players who consistently finds a way to leave a positive impression every time she is watched. She may not always be the loudest player on the floor, but her impact shows up in how steady and reliable she is in different game situations. Koch plays with a good feel for the game and understands how to make the right read rather than forcing action.

What stands out most is her consistency. She competes, stays within herself, and plays with a level of control that helps stabilize her team. Whether she's handling pressure, moving the ball, or finding ways to contribute offensively, she tends to make solid decisions and avoid unnecessary mistakes. That type of reliability is valuable, especially in competitive environments where possessions matter.

She also continues to show flashes of being able to contribute offensively in different ways depending on what her team needs. As she continues to grow her confidence and expand her offensive aggressiveness, she has the foundation to become an even more complete guard moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='834925' first='Kylah' last='Patterson'] is widely regarded as one of the top players in Northwest Indiana, and she continues to back that up with her ability to score the basketball at a high level. She plays with confidence and a clear understanding of how to generate offense, whether that's in transition, in the half court, or when creating her own shot off the dribble.

What makes Patterson especially dangerous is her ability to put pressure on defenses in multiple ways. She can get to her spots, create separation, and finish plays consistently. When she gets into a rhythm, she is capable of taking over stretches of a game and shifting momentum quickly. That scoring ability is a major reason she is projected to be in strong contention for player of the year next high school season.

She also brings a competitive presence that matches her offensive production. Patterson doesn't hesitate in big moments and tends to play with an assertive mindset that allows her to stay engaged throughout the game. As she continues to refine efficiency and expand her all-around impact, her value as a go-to scorer and leader for her team continues to rise.

This spring, I had the opportunity to watch the new Indy One program compete at both a Prep Girls Hoops event and the Prime Event Midwest. From top to bottom, Indy One showed why they are quickly becoming a program that college coaches and people around the Midwest should continue to pay attention to.
