I first saw Arianna play at the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase, and she was easily one of the best players in the gym that day. From the moment she stepped on the floor, her intensity, confidence, and ability to impact the game stood out immediately. She plays with a competitive edge that makes her difficult for opponents to contain and brings energy every possession.
Every time I’ve had the opportunity to watch her play — whether it was with her AAU team last season, watching her high school games online, or seeing her again during this AAU season — she consistently brings the same level of toughness and intensity to the game. That consistency is one of the things that separates her from many players in her class. She competes hard, plays with confidence, and never looks intimidated by the moment or the level of competition.
Arianna does a great job scoring the basketball and has proven she can put up numbers against strong competition. She can score in multiple ways, whether it is attacking the basket, finishing through contact, or knocking down perimeter shots. What I like most about her offensive game is how aggressive she is while still staying under control. She understands how to create space, get to her spots, and make defenders uncomfortable.
I was able to watch two of her games online during EYBL Session 2, and she averaged 16.8 points per game throughout the session. That level of production on a stage like EYBL says a lot about her skill set and confidence as a scorer. She looked comfortable competing against high-level talent and continued to make plays offensively throughout the weekend.

Arianna was the leading Freshman scorer in the state in 2025-2026, averaging 27.2 points per game. That also put her 4th in the state, regardless of class. She is extremely long, wiry, quick, fast, and shifty with the ball. She looked closer to 5-8, maybe 5-9 last weekend, and she is a legitimate bucket-getter. She can create space and shoot it with range, she can get downhill and either pull-up in the mid-range or get to the basket, and she uses the free throw line as well. Defensively, with a little more urgency, she has the talent to become an elite on-ball defender. She’s already effective as a trapper.

Few freshmen across the state had a résumé as impressive as
Arianna Rowell

this past season. Coming out of South Bend Saint Joseph, Rowell quickly proved herself as one of the top young scorers in Indiana and one of the premier talents in the region.
Rowell’s offensive ability immediately stands out. She is a dynamic scorer who can create her own shot, score from deep, and attack defenders off the bounce. Her confidence offensively allows her to take over stretches of games, and she already displays advanced shot-making ability for such a young player.
In addition to scoring, Rowell plays with strong instincts and competitiveness. Because of the production she had as a freshman and the talent she possesses, she is already widely viewed as one of the strongest early candidates to follow in future 2029 Indiana Miss Basketball conversations.

continues to establish herself as one of the most skilled offensive players in Indiana’s Class of 2029. The South Bend Saint Joseph standout brings a strong combination of size, athleticism, and scoring ability that allows her to impact the game in multiple ways. What makes Rowell especially dangerous offensively is her versatility. She can attack defenders off the dribble, finish effectively around the rim, and step out to knock down perimeter shots when given space.
Her ability to create offense in transition and play through contact makes her a difficult matchup for defenders at her age level. Rowell also shows a high basketball IQ, understanding how to move without the ball and create opportunities within the flow of the offense. As she continues to develop physically and refine her overall game, she has the potential to become one of the top overall prospects in the state.

Arianna had one of the best statistical seasons of any Freshmen in recent years. The 5-7 guard averaged 27.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.9 steals per game. What’s more impressive is that her percentages were also strong for a rookie. She shot 46% from the field, 38% from 3-point range, and 80% from the charity stripe. She is long, quick, fast, and explosive. She can create space for her jumper, she can go by you and get to the rim, or she can create offense for others. She’s also an effortful and crafty defensive player.

I first saw Arianna play last fall at the Prep Girls Hoops showcase, and she stood out very quickly with her ability to handle the basketball and score at a high level. She showed the ability to get to the rim and finish, while also being a threat from the perimeter with her ability to knock down shots.
This past weekend, she built on that performance and showed even more growth in her game. Arianna competed throughout her games and consistently made an impact on both ends of the floor. Her confidence with the ball in her hands allows her to create opportunities for herself and others, and she continues to expand her scoring ability in multiple ways. She does a good job of reading defenses, staying aggressive when needed, and making plays within the flow of the game.
What stands out most is her competitiveness—she doesn’t back down from the moment and embraces the challenge against tough competition. She plays with energy and a clear understanding of how to impact winning. Arianna not only has a bright future ahead, but also a high ceiling, as she continues to develop and refine her game.

Arianna was electric for Indy One EYBL 15U on Saturday at the Great Lakes Kickoff. She ran the offense with precision as the lead guard and demonstrated a high IQ off the ball. Arianna penetrated on a full speed drive down the middle, got hammered, hopped up, and then knocked down both free throws from the line. She communicated actively on both ends of the floor and was a coach on the court. Arianna finished a flex cut with a layup off two feet, maintained a wide, athletic stance on defense, and kept speedy guards under wraps. She finished layups efficiently off backdoor cuts, drained triples from the wing and the corner, and has a silky smooth jumper that always looks like it’s going in. Arianna created open looks for shooters on the perimeter by collapsing defenders with her explosive dribble penetration, then fired accurate skip passes to the open girl. She pushes the tempo in transition and is a superbly talented two-way court general with a very high ceiling.

A player who can definitely be impactful on both ends of the floor due to her length and quickness. She showed flashes of a strong 3&D type, and continued to have big moments throughout the games she played. A player for coaches to keep an eye on for sure.

Freshman Arianna Rowell, the starting point guard for Saint Joseph High School, set a Northern Indiana Conference single-game scoring record with 47 points on January 16. She shot an incredible 76% from two, 46% from three, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, adding 6 assists, 6 deflections, 8 steals, and 3 rebounds—all in just 24 minutes while returning from a growing strain. Arianna is having a legendary freshman season and is on pace to break the school’s single-season scoring record as well.

One of the toughest things to do going from 8th Grade ball to Varsity action is adjusting to the size and speed of the game. It appears as though Arianna has done that just fine so far for St. Joe. She is averaging a whopping 27.9 points per game so far, incredible for a Freshman, but she has also been consistent. Her lowest output was 12 points, with her high game being 46 points, but most of her outings have been in the high 20s or low 30s. She is definitely a “must see” for general basketball fans. She is long, quick & shifty, and she is a creative playmaker/scorer who is just a joy to watch.
