When looking at talented Guards with better than average size out of this 2028 Class Sage Weber is someone that standouts. Weber is skilled for her position and she stands between 5'10/5'11. Offensively, she works ridiculously hard at being the best player she can be for her teammates. She is a scoring threat at every level but she also can create off the dribble drive because of how much attention she brings coming down the court. Defensively, Weber has that size and athletic ability to switch onto most positions. She can play against someone bigger or someone smaller. Which is an important ability when looking at playing at the next level someday.

It should be an intriguing next couple of seasons for Alli Haskell of Clinton High School. Haskell is a talented and skilled SG/CG, who moves primary off of the ball on the offensive end while being sound defensively. When Haskell had to play her best last Winter, she held her own. She stood out as her team's best option on both sides of the ball whenever Guy isn't on the floor with her and that should be the case of the next two years as well. Haskell is talented. Sometimes she pulls out some skill moves that make you say, "woah!", and she is continuing to get better in her downtime, so her future is definitely a bright one at this point.

Chere Ambers came onto the Varsity scene last Winter in a big way for DSM Hoover. She was lighting in a bottle all season long with contagiously high energy. She made plays within her team's system and she was a vital reason as to why they could set things up in the first place. Her established handling, the communication with those around her on the floor, her ability to score from three different offensive levels, and her willingness to leave it all on the court each and every night - all of these factors combined for Ambers to show her worth and now she gets to do that for two more season at the Varsity level looking forward.

We have some high expectations from Eden Whitson as an upperclassmen moving into her Junior year at Indianola High School. Whitson, the 5'11 Center, is getting some great runs this Spring/Summer season on the road with her Iowa Suns AAU program. She is gaining experience as she competes against some noteworthy competition and in the long run that's going to be beneficial. It would not shock me if Whitson averages close to a double-double this Winter in points-rebounds. She has the size, touch, and coordination - she just needs to continue to play with confidence.

If Lanie Ernzen works on her weaknesses during this Summer time, she is going to be someone we hear about more and more as she continues to progress within this game. Ernzen is a SF, standing at 6'0, who should be able to lead some things with her tenacity this Winter at Linn-Mar. Their group will have other able players on roster but her combination of size and touch could be a difference maker in the middle in the grand scheme of things. If they can establish that early on in the season, it's going to pay dividends by the time they get to the Post Season.
