being out due to injury. Haskell played a respectable overall game. She knew she had to take over in some situations with their lack of offensive ability and she did a good job of that. She made some offensive play in the first quarter off the bounce in the middle of the lane and she also hit a three pointer off the catch from the wing to shorten CCA’s lead. After that, we saw her really show out again in the 4th. Several possessions in a row Haskell got fouled to go to the line or she made her first offensive attempt. Whatever kind it might have been. The future is bight in Clinton. Haskell was only a Sophomore this Winter so I’m sure she will come back even more well-rounded next season.

. Haskell led the team in scoring last night, registering 22 points on 50% shooting from the floor. She also went 6/6 from the free throw line, making the most of her opportunities when she found contact near the bucket. In reality, there needs to be someone else on the River Queens side that opposing teams have to plan for and that player should be Haskell. She is skilled enough as a guard, she is smart enough to make good choices when the clock is ticking down, and she can lead a program with her communication. She just needs that confidence behind her and they will be in good shape as their regular season comes to an end.

. Guy has transferred back to her hometown to be the local hero and that’s going to bring a lot of attention to this Clinton program. On and off the court. Opposing teams will have to account for Guy and Haskell as productive offensive threats each night they compete. Most teams won’t have the defense to contain both so that leads me to believe that Guy will get double, even tripled teamed at times, leaving her teammates wide open in some specific moments. Haskell is a shooter, who can put the ball on the ground and create better than most her age. She is going to play off of Guy the next 3 years at the varsity level and that’s going to help her get to the collegiate floor before you know it.

Clinton is on the rise. Some might not expect it or understand what’s going on but they are going to be a team to beat in the 4A Class in seven months. One of the reasons for that will be the role players that they possess. Players like

. Haskell would even be considered more than just a role player. She is going to be a lethal threat on the offensive side of the ball when their PG creates. She might be catching it and hitting three’s. She might catch it and attack the defense to create for others herself. It just comes down to the situation unfolding in the moment. Don’t sleep on Haskell or Clinton. They are going to be a hot topic of conversation before you know it.

. Haskell is a knock-down shooter, who can also put it on the group and finish in a plethora of different ways when she attacks the basket. From what I saw, she is really lethal in letting it go from deep but she also doesn’t settle on that. If a few don’t go in, she will adapt and get a better look for herself or a teammate. I’m excited to see where Haskell goes from here. Her high school team is going to be a favorite to make the 4A State Tournament next Winter and she is going to play a vital role in making that happen.
