McLaughlin continues to be a solid overall PG prospect out of this 2028 Class, that is going to continue to receive offers all the way up to her commitment and that's why she holds the #6 spot. As of most recent she took a visit to St. Thomas (MN), receiving an offer from the Tommies to add to her collection. This Winter she will return to the 2A level with Regina Catholic and I'm sure they are going to be a group that doesn't lose too often at this level with their new additions on hand. With McLaughlins leadership and her ability to shoot the rock, she is set up to post some big numbers over her next two seasons as an Upperclassmen. She just needs to keep her head down and to continue to keep on pushing forward.

One of the best knock down shooters from this 2028 group throughout the state is Bentley Dill from CR - Kennedy High School and AIA EYBL. Bentley has done a great job this Spring/Summer demonstrating that she is more than someone who can only shoot the ball from deep. She can also put it on the floor and get to other favorable positions for a pass or bucket at a different offensive level, she rebounds steadily, she holds her own in the defending category, and she is ALWAYS ready to compete at a high level. We have seen some great performances out of Dill this past year and I'm sure this is only the beginning. She is going to be a great addition to a roster at the collegiate level one day with her ability to hit shots. Once she gets on the floor for doing that, it's going to be hard to pull her off because she is willing to do anything for the success of the team and that will show first hand to the coaching staff. For now though - she holds onto the #7 position in this Update.

The attention and interest is slowing starting to come along for Ava Smid at the SF position. Smid gave us a memorable Sophomore campaign last Winter but she is looking to do even better this upcoming season and she has all the intangibles to accomplish that goal. Smid stands around 5'11, she has ample coordination, she is extremely calculated in everything she attempts to do on the court, and she just knows how to make plays. Sometimes there are rare players out there that can make things happen when the shot clock is clicking down or when things become tight towards the end of a big contest. That place is Smid. She stepped up big time last season for DCG and I'm sure she will be a focal point in their system on both sides of the floor once again this season.

There is a world where Ella Subbert gets to the D1 level and absolutely kills it at the SF/CG spot. Subbert is naturally skilled on both sides of the rock and when you combined that with her height of 6'1 - you get a matchup that most can't deal with at the high school levels. Subbert has been a star for her ADM High School team ever since she stepped onto the Varsity floor with them. Her steady progression up to this point in her career has been really promising and I think that's only going to continue the more she falls in love with the process of becoming better. Don't be shocked if you hear Subbert producing at the next level throughout her career. She checks off a lot of boxes right now and I don't expect that to change.

Rounding out our Top 10 is Julia Van Keuren of Valley High School. Van Keuren is one of the taller hoopers that this Class has to offer at 6'2 and the best parts about her game is that she understands her role. She knows her size is a huge advantage and she knows how to put that to work in real time. We recently saw Van Keuren bring in a D2 offer to Maryville (MO) this last week, which is very exciting. If she can continue to show her worth this July, there will be other suitors trying to get involved within her recruitment. That's usually how it goes and when you are 6'2 + coordinated, it's going to bring some attention.
