Class of 2027 Summer Watchlist: Part 2

The depth of Virginia's Class of 2027 continues to shine as the summer progresses. This second part of my Summer Watchlist highlights another group of players who have distinguished themselves through their versatility, IQ, and ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Here are 17 more players to keep an eye on in July.    Kilkenny creates matchup problems with her size, length, and guard skills. She handles the ball comfortably on the perimeter, stretches defenses with her shooting range, and has the ability to score at all three levels. She contributes in a variety of roles, as she can attack the basket, finish through contact, facilitates for teammates, and utilize her size when needed around the paint.     Ferguson plays with poise and composure. She keeps the offense organized, using her speed, creativity, ball-handling, and decision-making to create scoring opportunities. She also impacts the game defensively, moving well laterally to stay in front of opponents and providing reliability on both ends of the floor.     Walters has returned from injury looking stronger than ever. She is a crafty shot creator who uses her ball-handling, patience, and ability to read defenses to create scoring opportunities, whether attacking the basket, finishing through contact, or knocking down pull-up jumpers. Defensively, she has great anticipation and instincts, generating steals, disrupting passing lanes, and turning defensive stops into fast break points.     Breland makes the right reads and plays within the flow of the game. She moves well without the ball, creates opportunities, and attacks downhill with purpose when she finds gaps in the defense. She also contributes on the defensive end by rebounding, anticipating passes, and creating transition opportunities while using her body control and footwork to finish effectively around the basket.     Collins impacts the game through her relentless effort and playmaking. She thrives in transition, running the floor hard, creating proper spacing, and timing her cuts well to put herself in position for easy scoring opportunities, while also showing the ability to handle the ball, attack from the perimeter, and create offense with crafty moves and strong reads of the defense. She sets the tone on both ends of the floor.     Hubbard is a two-way player whose defensive intensity sets the tone on both ends. She aggressively pressures opponents, disrupts shots at the rim, generates deflections and steals, and turns defensive plays into transition scoring opportunities. She has a full court game, combining lockdown defense, strong anticipation, and timely perimeter shooting and smart cuts to the basket.     Witt is a versatile, high-IQ guard who combines size and athleticism with an advanced understanding of how to create offense. She attacks downhill with strength, protects the ball well, and uses crafty moves, strong footwork, and quick decision-making to split defenders, create space, and finish efficiently at the basket or pull up for jumpers. She can read defenses, play multiple positions, and impact the game on both ends of the floor.     Epps is a smart, fundamentally sound player who is active. She works hard to make herself available offensively, reads the floor well with the ball in her hands, and makes timely cuts and off-ball movement. She also makes her presence felt on the glass, using strong box-outs and good positioning to secure rebounds and generate second-chance opportunities.     Lieu is a skilled perimeter player whose shooting and off-ball movement make her a constant offensive threat. She plays with purpose, facilitating from the top of the key, executing give-and-go actions, and finding open space to create scoring opportunities. Her quick release, confidence beyond the arc, and ability to collapse on defensive lapses allow her to knock down threes with consistency.     King is a fundamental player with an unselfish style of play, defensive effort, and smart decision-making. She facilitates well from the perimeter, moving without the ball and creating scoring opportunities for teammates through her willingness to make the extra pass. She also contributes on the defensive end with active hands and strong ball pressure, while providing a reliable scoring option with her ability to square up, knock down mid-range jumpers, and capitalize on open looks.     Ellingson is a three-level scorer whose shot-making, composure, and IQ make her a difficult player to defend. She is a confident perimeter shooter with a smooth, effortless release, but is equally effective creating off the dribble, attacking gaps, and finishing around the rim with either hand while navigating traffic under control. She also contributes as a facilitator in transition with smart decision-making, great floor vision, poise, and a competitive nature.     Ames is a relentless defender whose on-ball pressure disrupts opposing offenses. She is comfortable guarding on the perimeter, using active feet, physicality, and disciplined positioning to force ball handlers into difficult decisions, pick up their dribble, or give the ball up altogether. She sets the tone defensively with her ability to make every possession challenging for the player she is assigned to guard.     Morrill is a dynamic guard who thrives in transition, using her speed, ball-handling, and quick decision-making to put constant pressure on opposing defenses. She attacks gaps, utilizes crafty footwork to finish through traffic, and reads defenders early to create scoring opportunities. She also makes an impact defensively with active hands, strong lateral movement, and the ability to turn steals into transition offense.     Lipscomb plays with fundamentals on the perimeter and excels with the ball in her hands. She moves well without it, creates proper spacing, and is always prepared to capitalize on scoring opportunities, whether it's knocking down an open three, attacking immediately off the catch, or making the right read on a ball reversal. Her ability to think one step ahead, combined with her three-level scoring, makes her dependable on offense.     Reid plays with patience, pace, and a strong understanding of how to create offense. She controls the ball well, reads the defense before attacking, and excels in transition by advancing the ball, making the right pass, or pushing the tempo herself when opportunities arise. She also moves well off the ball and spaces the floor for perimeter shooting and crafty finishes around the basket.     Myers is a versatile player with post fundamentals and the ability to stretch the floor offensively. She runs well in transition, establishes deep position around the basket, and uses sound footwork, pivot moves, and patience in triple-threat to create scoring opportunities in the paint. She also flashes to open areas and has the confidence to step out and knock down perimeter shots.     Williams is a versatile post player whose size, skill, and unselfish approach allow her to impact the game in multiple ways. She controls the glass, secures rebounds, and looks to ignite transition with smart outlet passes while also creating easy scoring opportunities with timely cuts and strong positioning around the basket. She complements her interior presence with a reliable mid-range jumper and the ability to convert at the free-throw line.
