There were standout performances from a few nationally known prospects and standouts by some of the top prospects from Florida and Georgia. There were also impressions made numerous players who simply competed, made winning plays, and impacted the games. During my time in the gym, several young players caught my attention with their toughness, instincts, defensive effort, and offensive shooting. Here are a few under-the-radar performers who left a lasting impression.

[player_tooltip player_id='1867066' first='Bella' last='Carbert'] was walking tall after the shootout and rightfully so. The 2029 guard was one of the most polished guards in her class. Her game has elitism written all over it. She can handle the rock and can control the flow of the offense. She can play isolation ball, play in the pick and roll, and make good decisions with the ball. She can move to the two and attack off the bounce, pull-up for the three, or maneuver to the rim for a closer shot. The young guard does so with finesse and can play through contact when necessary. The young guard was also special on defense, playing on the ball and in the lanes. She can push the break or fill the lane and is a terror in transition. Carbert's game is smooth and elite. If you didn't know her before the shootout, now you do.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875901' first='Mackenzie' last='Smith'] showed why she is a player to keep an eye on. The young guard handled the basketball with confidence, remained calm under pressure, and consistently made smart decisions with the ball in her hands. Smith also rebounded well for her position, using her length to track down loose balls and defensive rebounds. Her combination of poise, size, and basketball IQ gives her a strong foundation as she continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1538934' first='Kailyn' last='Chapman'] was impressive on the defensive side of the floor. She applied constant pressure on the ball and created turnovers that quickly turned into transition points. Offensively, Chapman knocked down the three with confidence and showed she can stretch the defense. Her ability to defend, force steals, and capitalize on them in the open floor made her an impactful guard on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1876206' first='Aaliyah' last='Albright'] impressed with her toughness and poise at the point guard position and consistently made smart decisions with the basketball. Albright delivered several well-timed bounce passes that led to quality scoring opportunities and showed a strong understanding of how to run the offense. She plays with confidence, competes on every possession, and is feisty on the floor. On one possession, Lewis came up with a steal and nearly went coast-to-coast before having her shot blocked. She chased down her own rebound, missed again, grabbed another offensive rebound, and finally converted the basket. That single possession captured the young guard's competitiveness and determination. Throughout the showcase, Lewis found ways to impact the game with her hustle. Lewis's overall game is still developing, but she left the shootout standing tall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1852678' first='Autumn' last='Forney'] is another young player who consistently made plays when inserted into the lineup. Forney has a knack for making plays on both sides of the floor that lead to buckets. On offense, she is smart and finds the open teammate with her court vision. Forney plays passing lanes and is very good at getting steals that lead to transitional points. Throughout the grassroots season, Forney accepted the challenge of covering the team's best ball handler. She has the quickness to cut off angles. It was more of the same at the Wildcat shootout. Forney is a rising young player who continues to get better each time out.
