Over the past two years, Nate Wickstrom and JD Andersen have put together a camp of 25 talented players, run them through skills workouts, and put them in a competitive environment. I've enjoyed attending the first two events they have put together, and I'm excited to see how they grow the event in the years to come. Over the next few days, I'll talk about some things I noticed from the players in attendance, what they showed through drills, some of the competitive drills, and short 5v5 games they played over the four hours in Mequon.

The Lancaster native had a busy weekend, winning state in the high jump at the State Track Meet and traveling across the state to get to the event in Mequon. Her athleticism stood out among high-level athletes at camp, and you can tell she's excellent simply by how she moves. She can cover ground quickly and has plenty of room to continue adding to her game over the next three years. I thought that she belonged in a gym with elite talent and looked the part.

The Shullsburg native is another Southwest Wisconsin talent who made the journey across southern Wisconsin to get to Mequon. Russell is a fairly fluid athlete for her size, did a solid job in the skills portion of the event, and looked more comfortable than I may have expected with some of the ball handling work they did. I also thought she flipped her hips well and changed directions better than I thought she did. I was more impressed with her than I thought I'd be heading into the event.

King is among the most versatile prospects in her class, and she can do a little of everything on the floor. King was solid in the skills portion, but showed how valuable she can be in the 1v1 and 5v5 portions. She used her size well in the 1v1 work. Her size also made her a hard kid to stop when she had an advantage as an offensive player. She also worked well against mismatches in the 5v5 portion.

I've talked ad nauseam about how much I've liked Pudelko's growth as a player in the last 12-14 months. She plays strong and played off two feet well at camp, and, in turn, played through contact well in the competitive portions of the event. She was among the more impressive 1v1 players in Mequon and probably had one of the best mornings shooting of anyone there.
