Earlier in the week we began our coverage of the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2029 rankings update. We started with the biggest stock risers from the past few months, and now we're looking at the latest additions in the sophomore class. Yesterday we covered the first seven of the 21 new prospects joining the ranks (read about them Here). Today we'll look at another seven players in part 2 of our July newcomers.

This Wayzata sophomore appears to be on the cusp of a breakthrough. Long, lean, and highly mobile, McFarland is the type of wing player whose two-way versatility is sure to translate to the college level. A member of [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan']'s 15U EYCL team, Samantha has taken a big leap this summer in terms of her aggressiveness on both ends of the floor as well as her overall skill level. It may be some time before we see the 5'10 small forward play at the varsity level for the Trojans, but the potential is certainly there. She enters the rankings at #82.

Putting herself on the maps with Hoop Habits this season, Udeani (pictured above) is a consistent threat on both ends of the floor. The 5'9 guard is crafty with the basketball in her hands, attacking the rim with both speed and confidence. Mariah has a real knack for reading and reacting to the defense, finishing at the rim on either side, whether using a floater, finger roll, or traditional layup. When the drive isn't there, the Eden Prairie sophomore can just as easily hit shots from deep. A skilled rebounder and shot blocker too, Udeani joins the rankings at #83 in the class.

Speer's toughness on both ends of the floor is what sets her apart. Quick, feisty, and physical, the 5'6 [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] SE guard defends smartly, using her speed and pesky energy to frustrate opponents. On offense, Scarlett's ability to change pace allows her to take advantage of openings in the defense. She's constantly moving off the ball, making cuts towards the basket, and stays ready to shoot, allowing her to sink three pointers off of catch-and-shoot opportunities. With plenty of youth on Stewartville's roster, we may see the sophomore guard crack the varsity rotation sooner rather than later. She slots in at #84.

The younger sister of 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='665720' first='Jersey' last='Coleman'], we've seen plenty of great things from the [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] SE guard this summer. Highly active on the defensive end, Coleman uses her length and speed to her advantage by cherry-picking passes, forcing live-ball turnovers, and turning defense into transition offense. When not grabbing steals, Harper maintains awareness of the court, keeping her head on a swivel and talking on defense. The 5'7 shooting guard excels at scoring off fast break layups, but is equally effective at finding opportunities to score when a play breaks down. The Owatonna sophomore enters the rankings at #85.

After a stellar freshman season at Concordia Academy where she led the team in scoring, Taylor has been lighting it up for the [program_tooltip program_id='718403' first='Minnesota' last='Freeze'] all summer. The 5'5 guard is skilled with the ball in her hands, can score from multiple levels, and is a strong finisher at the rim. On the other end of the floor, Sydney's confidence and aggression give her the upper hand. The Freeze standout puts pressure on the ball, plays with intensity, and anticipates well, allowing her to generate transition buckets for her team. Taylor breaks into the rankings for the first time at #86.

Standing at 6-foot-2, Hruby has more size than most players in the class. She has plenty of length, a solid frame, and plays with a fair degree of mobility. On defense, the [program_tooltip program_id='774653' first='Minnesota' last='Bobcats'] forward is a strong rim protector, using her long arms to block or alter shots in the lane. Ella also positions herself well around the rim, allowing her to secure box-outs and snag rebounds. On the other end, the Prior Lake sophomore is a steady finisher in transition, and plays with a measured pace in the half-court, not allowing herself to get sped up by pressure from the defense. She joins the rankings at #87.

Playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] this summer, Yonke is one of those players that perform whatever is asked of her in any given matchup. She's skilled, dependable, and most importantly coachable. When looking to score, Brooke is a confident shooter from beyond the arc, but also excels at getting off floaters and pull-up jumpers in the midrange. Though her game isn't particularly flashy, the 5'8 guard plays with a high understanding of the game, makes relatively few mistakes, and gets things done on both ends of the floor. Already a key piece of the rotation at Edina, the Hornets sophomore makes her rankings debut at #88.
