Class of 2028: Top Five

Today, we have posted our updated Class of 2028 rankings, and we will look at the top 10 players in the updated rankings draft. As is always the case, we will look at the top five in the first article of the day, and follow that article up with a next five article highlighting the No. 6 to No. 10 players. There will be more content regarding the 28s tomorrow, but let's look at some of the high-end talent, in what is among the best classes I've seen come through Wisconsin.    The Madison native has quickly risen to one of the country's blue-chip prospects and will play for the United States U17 National Team in Czechia in just over a week at the U17 World Cup. Riak has all the talent and ability to be one of the best athletes to ever come out of our state, and still has room to improve, but she is among the nation's best, if not the best our nation has to offer.     The SPASH wing has continuously improved since I first saw her as an eighth grader down in Louisville. Awe has built her frame and has the strength to play through contact around the basket against elite frontcourt talents, and her skill set has come together nicely. She is a versatile 6-2/6-3 kid who is comfortable putting the ball on the floor, finishing with both hands, and her physical tools and athleticism give her a high ceiling defensively at the next level.     The Oostburg native may be the smoothest wing I've seen since I started in the 2021-22 season. Everything she does looks easy, and to her, it is. Ketterhagen is a three-level scorer who can create and put the ball in the basket from anywhere on the floor. Ketterhagen also has more room to grow as a player over her final two years, and five at the next level, making her an intriguing prospect in the 2028 class for high-major programs in the region and beyond.     The southeast Wisconsin native is one of the few players we'll talk about today who has undergone adversity due to knee injuries. Mannetter missed her sophomore season due to a knee injury in a fall league, and if you want to know how competitive she is, she found a way to return in time for track season, where she went to the state meet as a high jumper. She may not be back on the floor until this winter, but she will return as one of the best slashers in the state, and a player with some of the most gravity with the ball in her hands that I've seen. Her best basketball is still ahead of her.     The Eau Claire native is the second player to suffer a severe knee injury and will miss significant time before we see her back on the floor. Kling is an uber-athletic kid who can affect the game on both ends of the floor. She's a confident mid-range shooter who can get to her spots and use her athletic tools to earn her team extra possessions. However, her strength, athleticism, and size will make her a versatile and impressive defender at the next level. Kling was also the first player to announce her commitment in Wisconsin's 2028 class, and will further her playing career in the Horizon League at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
