IBCA Charlie Hughes Girls Basketball Showcase Top Performances

The 2026 IBCA Charlie Hughes Girls Basketball Showcase once again proved why it is one of the premier summer evaluation events in the state of Indiana. Held on June 19-20, the showcase featured hundreds of talented players from every corner of the state, providing college coaches, scouts, and media members an outstanding opportunity to evaluate prospects in a competitive environment before the start of the high school season. With players from multiple graduating classes taking the floor, the event showcased Indiana's depth of talent and allowed many athletes to demonstrate their continued development against high-level competition.   Throughout the two-day event, numerous players stood out for different reasons. Some displayed their ability to score at all three levels, while others impacted the game with their defensive intensity, rebounding, playmaking, leadership, or basketball IQ. The showcase also gave several under-the-radar prospects an opportunity to elevate their recruitment by performing well in front of college coaches from all levels. Events like Charlie Hughes continue to play an important role in the recruiting process, allowing players to compete outside of the traditional high school season and gain valuable exposure.   This article highlights several players who caught my attention during the showcase based on my in-person evaluations. Due to scheduling, I was only able to scout the games played at Fishers High School and was not able to attend or evaluate the players competing at the Hamilton Southeastern High School site. As a result, the players featured in this article are solely from the Fishers location and are not intended to represent every standout performer from the entire showcase.   The following evaluations are based on each player's performance during the event and focus on the skills, intangibles, and overall impact they displayed on the court. Whether they were established Division I prospects or emerging recruits beginning to make a name for themselves, each player listed below made the most of the opportunity and left a strong impression during the 2026 IBCA Charlie Hughes Girls Basketball Showcase.    [player_tooltip player_id='1306357' first='Tatum' last='Eberly'] does a strong job of running the point guard position and controlling the tempo for her team. She shows the ability to score the basketball at a consistent level while also creating opportunities for others within the offense. One of her biggest strengths is her shooting ability, where she can space the floor and knock down shots, making her a key perimeter threat. She also shows good composure under pressure, making smart decisions in transition and in late-clock situations.   Beyond scoring, Tatum competes on both ends of the floor and understands how to manage the game as a lead guard. She does a solid job of keeping her team organized, getting them into sets, and making sure the offense stays balanced. Her ability to read defenses and adjust in real time allows her to stay effective even when possessions break down. Heading into the season, she projects as one of the more impactful guards in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference (HCC) with her ability to produce, lead, and stretch defenses.     [player_tooltip player_id='751058' first='Etta' last='Young'] continues to stand out as a major contributor for her team, bringing a strong two-way presence and consistent production. She plays with confidence and has the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, whether scoring, rebounding, or defending at a high level. She is also active without the ball, finding ways to get herself involved in the flow of the game.   Her motor and competitiveness allow her to stay engaged for all four quarters, and she is not afraid to step up in big moments when her team needs a bucket or a stop. She shows a growing comfort as a go-to option and is willing to take on tougher defensive assignments when needed. As she continues to develop, she will be a key piece for her program and is positioned for a strong season that could put her in conversations among Indiana's top performers and potential All-Star level consideration.     [player_tooltip player_id='1267070' first='Lillian' last='Clark'] is one of the more experienced returning players in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and Sectional 8, bringing both production and leadership back to her team. She is a reliable shooter who has shown growth in extending her range, which adds another layer to her offensive game. Her ability to space the floor forces defenses to stay attached, opening driving lanes for her teammates.   In addition to her shooting, Lillian understands how to play within the system and pick her spots effectively. She competes on the defensive end and provides steady communication and leadership on the floor. She also shows improved confidence attacking closeouts when defenses overcommit to her shot. With her ability to stretch defenses and contribute as a veteran presence, she is set up for a strong senior campaign and continued impact.     [player_tooltip player_id='1855734' first='Harper' last='Scaringe'] continues to emerge as one of the more promising guards in the 2030 class. She showed a strong ability to handle the basketball and make shots within the flow of the offense while playing in a structured Center Grove system coming off a state championship season. Her poise with the ball stands out for her age, especially in how she handles pressure and stays composed in live-game situations.   She also shows developing instincts as a decision-maker, understanding when to score and when to distribute. Her shooting touch and comfort playing in a disciplined system give her a strong foundation moving forward. She is also starting to show more vocal leadership and confidence directing teammates on the floor. As she continues to grow physically and expand her skill set, she has a chance to develop into a high-level guard in her class.     [player_tooltip player_id='1137311' first='Aniya' last='Doughty'] is a key guard for a very talented Franklin Central group, bringing both scoring ability and playmaking to the backcourt. She showed the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter while also displaying solid vision and passing ability. Her confidence with the ball allows her to initiate offense and create advantages for her teammates.   She is also effective in reading defenses, knowing when to attack gaps or move the ball to keep the offense flowing. Defensively, she competes and uses her quickness to stay active in passing lanes and on-ball situations. She brings a steady presence in pressure moments and does not shy away from big possessions. Her offensive versatility makes her an important part of her team's success and a guard that can impact games in multiple ways.     [player_tooltip player_id='999408' first='Hillary' last='Labis'] is looking to build on another strong season, continuing to be a steady contributor on the offensive end. She provides consistency within her role and finds ways to stay productive throughout the game. Her ability to perform within the system and contribute offensively makes her a reliable piece for her team heading into the season.   She also brings value through her effort and understanding of team concepts, rarely forcing actions and instead playing within what the game gives her. Her off-ball movement and willingness to do the little things help her stay impactful even when she is not scoring. That level of discipline helps stabilize her team's offensive flow. As she continues to grow, her consistency and reliability will remain key strengths.     [player_tooltip player_id='751076' first='Jayla' last='Miller'] is a new transfer addition to the Kokomo girls basketball program and brings a noticeable boost to both sides of the ball. She adds energy, toughness, and a competitive edge that immediately raises the intensity of the team. Her presence helps Kokomo in multiple areas, especially with defensive pressure and transition play.   Offensively, she brings the ability to score in different ways while also helping facilitate and keep the offense organized. She is comfortable handling pressure and making plays in open court situations. Defensively, she is active, physical, and willing to take on tough assignments, often setting the tone with her effort. With a new head coach and system in place, her impact as a transfer gives Kokomo another strong piece as they continue to build chemistry, identity, and momentum.     [player_tooltip player_id='917414' first='Zo'e' last='Peyton'] is a strong new addition to the Cathedral girls basketball program, bringing size, versatility, and interior presence to the frontcourt. She provides a valuable option inside with her ability to rebound, finish around the rim, and defend the paint. Her physical tools give Cathedral a different look in the frontcourt rotation.   She also shows the ability to run the floor and be active in transition, which adds another layer to her overall impact. Offensively, she is improving her touch around the basket and learning to score through contact more consistently. Defensively, she protects the paint and changes shots, making it difficult for opponents to score comfortably inside. Her presence gives Cathedral another important piece as they continue to build out their roster and compete at a high level in one of the more competitive environments in the state.
