Last season we saw a lot of change. New champions. More prospects getting bigger offers and so on. This year, I think we are on the verge of a similar trajectory with a lot more girls getting notoriety, pushing their prospective programs over the edge, and crowning new teams who haven't had a championship ever or in a while.

I think a part of the success will come from the 28 class. Unsure why I feel that way per se, but I just feel that this crop of girls has been the glue to a lot of success for programs. Across the board, this class has brought it early in their high school careers. Battle-tested young women who bring a wide array of skill sets to the floor. I mentioned before this class has a little bit of everything in it; therefore, in my opinion, it offers high school coaches options especially when it comes to game planning.

Also, the value this class brings is so great. This class is solid from top to bottom and if a program has a high calbier 28 on its roster, I would say they have a good shot at running it deep into the postseason. As a scout, one thing that is tough for myself personally is separating the talent gap. Think of it this way. In the NFL, you have maybe 2 to 3 elite quarterbacks, and then in the next tier there are a whole bunch of good ones. The same thing rings true for this class. There are two to three elite ballplayers, and then, boom, everyone is crammed into the next tier. The crazy thing is that the second tier is heavy vs. a tier 3 or a tier 4. The in this class is legit.

Here are a few girls I feel will push their school over the edge this year. You may or may not know their names, but I would advise you to get to know them, as they will be kids who will be valuable assets to their program.

A ballplayer. First thing that comes to mind. A kid who gets after it on both ends of the floor. She has a nice stroke from the field as she scorches the bottom of the net, but it's the other things she can do that are impressive. Defending, rebounding, making the extra pass, etc. She's excelled on the travel-ball stage and uplifts her school's ball club. A heady ballplayer who is looking to take the next step for her team to be successful. Look for her to have a solid year.

A kid who plays with a motor. Talk about someone who can truly be a difference maker. She can work inside the paint, but also stretch the floor and attack or knock down shots. I love her defensive ability and how she rebounds. She is a kid who can guard 1-5 effectively. Had a great summer; will be a major contributor to the Lady Tigers ballclub. She will have a great upcoming season and be a solid factor for her program. Look for her to continue to grow and be a force down the stretch.

She may not get a lot of publicity, but she is solid all around. A kid who can do a multitude of things, she's a fundamentally sound ballplayer who plays the game the right way. She gets after it. Not only looking to check the scoring column box, but also contributes in other phases of the game as well. She's done nothing but get better over the years and with her her build and solid skills, look for her to take the next step in not only becoming a solid college prospect but also one who will help NHS take the next step as they look to make a run this postseason.

One to watch this upcoming season. This kid gets after it, and she can beat you in many ways. Her role changes from game to game as she keeps the defense on its toes. From being a pass-first PG to a scoring threat in an instant, what she brings to the table is awesome. She's a marksman from 3, can get to the rim and finish, but her ability to utilize her length to get steals and deflections is crazy good. She is on an upward trajectory. She will look to not only attract more eyes from collegiate coaches, but also help Page make a postseason. She is one to watch as she continues to grow into a dynamic ballplayer.

One to watch as she transfers to Baylor this upcoming year. Had a huge summer, putting up solid numbers for her travel ball club. Playing with more confidence and freedom, she was able to attack the rim, get to her mid-range spots, and knock down the 3-ball consistently. She was solid on the defensive end, stealing the ball, grabbing boards, and neutralizing opponents. She will be a nice addition to a Baylor squad looking to make a run this year. A solid ballplayer who will be a nice addition to an up-and-coming team.
