Florida Sophomore ID Camp: Team 11 Evaluations

The Sophomore ID camp took place on Sunday evening at the Seminole Sports Academy, in Longwood, FL. The sophomores had to hit the court after the freshman and they did not disappoint. From savvy guard play to the post players banging inside on the block, these young athletes left it all on the floor. Here is a look at Team 11.    Donovan was a game changer on Sunday. She showed everyone why she is one of the top players in the state. High IQ point guard who has the ability to score every time the ball is in her hands. Precision ball handling which allows her to get to rim and finish with her inside hand. Also showed her dribble drive baseline and reverse off the glass. Lures you to sleep while surveying the floor but can change gears quickly with the ball in her hand. Has the ability to take over the game at any given time.     Span moves well without the ball in her hands. She will wear down her opponents with how active she is on both ends of the floor. Shoots the 3 ball and also showed her ability to attack the rim and get to the free throw line. Has the ability to take the smaller defender inside the paint to create easy shots at the rim.     Wilson was by far one of the quickest guards in the gym. Her ability to handle the ball in traffic and distribute off the dribble is what stood out most. Always moving and reading the defense. Loves to pick up her opponents the full length of the court causing turnovers for her team. Knows how to score from all 3 levels.     Brimingham is a player that can do it all. Don't let her 5'7 frame fool you as she plays like she is 5'11. A player that is tough with her handles and knows how to punch the gaps and get downhill quickly. She keeps the defender on their heels because she has the ability to score from anywhere on the floor. Can finish at the rim off 2, inside finish, reverse, left or right side. Fundamentally sound guard.     Sapp is the player when you walk in the gym that wows you with the amount of energy she brings. A player that gets to all the loose balls and willing to dive on the floor for extra possessions. Knows how to control her offensive possessions and knows when it's time to score. Uses her handles to get in scoring position.     Wilson is a playmaker that is always around the basketball. She is a player that plays great on ball and off ball defense. Reads the next pass and knows when to shoot the gap for a steal. A player that moves around on both ends of the floor and plays with a toughness that allows her to get in the paint and finish through contact.     Stratton really pushes the ball well in transition and understands how to spread the floor to get scoring opportunities. Handles the ball well under pressure and can get to the rim with the dribble. Great footwork on defense which allowed her to keep the ball in front and pressure the defender. A player with a tremendous upside and will move up through the rankings as the season begins.     Cassin is a knock down shooter who knows how to get to her spots behind the arc. A player with a quick release which allows her to create separation to get her shot off. Can heat up quickly from behind the arc which allows her to hit the scoring column. Great decision-making skills on offense and defense.
