Judy Bokhary emerged as one of the top prospects on the DSM Roosevelt roster last season. She was one of the only starters who was not a Senior and she made the most of her opportunities. So much so that we expect her to lead this group this Winter at Will. We are talking about a 5’10 CG, that can MOVE. She gets down the floor in a hurry and she is a mismatch nightmare to most that try to step in her way. This is one of those players that if she runs her own run, she should have several options to compete at the next level at the end of her high school career. She possesses the intangibles that all coaches love to see with her size and athleticism. If you think about that and how far her game has progressed the last few years – you see where things might be going down the line. She could have some big possibilities in her future if she stays dedicated.

Judy Bokhary was a stock-riser this Summer in every definition of the phrase for Lady Pure Prep AAU. Bokhary made sure that her Guard-like abilities were on full display these last few months. She showed a versatility that most others wish they possessed and that leads us into this evaluation. JB is a mismatch nightmare with her mixture of size and skill. She can either kill you going to the bucket while scoring over smaller/weaker defenders on the constant, she can post you with her back to the basket usually ending in a really nice turnaround pull up out of the Midpost, or she can step back and hit a shot from deep range – contested or not by the opponent. Defensively, she has so much length and athletic ability that she can defend every possession at the high school level at this moment in time. There aren’t any opponents who are too quick or too strong for her to deal with and that’s noteworthy. I’m excited to see JB this Winter at Roosevelt once again. She put up respectable numbers last season as a Sophomore and I’m sure this season will follow suit.

Judy Bokhary Judy Bokhary 5'10" | CG/SF Des Moines Roosevelt | 2028 IA is proving this Winter as a Sophomore that she competes more as a CG that anything else with her guard-like abilities on and off of the basketball. Bokhary is the type that can beat her defender off the dribble for easy buckets, she is very good at passing in transition in the full court to her open teammates, she has a solid bag offensively to pull out when in need, and she defends multiple positions at a steady rate. Bokhary shows up in little ways each time she competes. She usually is the one making a play and getting the crowd/her team fired up with a ton of positive energy. Something you love to see from an outside perspective. Bokhary has demonstrated that she is a difficult guard overall. She has lengthier arms than most at 5’10 and that helps her with finishing over smaller defenders, creating tips/deflections defensively, and her game as a whole in reality. Roosevelt has some play-makers. Now we just need to see how they will be used moving forward.

It’s looking to be a big Winter ahead for Judy Bokhary Judy Bokhary 5'10" | CG/SF Des Moines Roosevelt | 2028 IA of Roosevelt High School. Bokhary seems to have a natural skill-set. She isn’t someone that plays with her opponent. She likes to get right the point and make things happen. She does a great job of stepping up when things break down within her team’s systems and that should translate to the Varsity level this upcoming season. This is someone that is putting up big numbers over the last three days and frankly, this entire AAU season. I’ve seen this name again and again from March until now. When someone shows up that much, you know they can do some great things on the hardwood.
