The Headliners Invitational Showcase became a groundbreaking experience for Michigan's girls' basketball community in 2023. The second and third events in October of 2025 and March of 2026 were even better. We take this showcase to different regions of Michigan, so girls from coast to coast have an opportunity to participate. My definition of a prospective showcase includes three elements: 1) College-caliber players, 2) College Coaches, and 3) Media Exposure from a respected source within the high school girls basketball recruiting arena. The Headliners Invitational Showcase checks all three boxes, and then some. We provided details about the showcase to colleges in Michigan and many bordering states, including a registration list. We believe these girls can help programs at the next level, and I'm encouraged by the college coaches who continue to support this event year after year.

Headliners Invitational, MS Session, Portland HS, Oct. 26th, 2025.

Headliners Invitational by [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'], HS Session, Portland H.S., Oct. 26th, 2025.

Following the precedent set by Prep Girls Hoops, EVERY prospect attending the Headliners Invitational Showcase will be included in a post-event article. Prospects wear numbered reversibles to make media coverage and evaluation as easy as possible. College coaches who pre-registered will receive a recruiting packet on site with all the information necessary to evaluate in the gym and contact prospects afterwards. The event format is EXACTLY what I believe needs to be present to 1) thoroughly evaluate a prospect, 2) fully demonstrate a prospect's recruitable qualities, and 3) cultivate a connection with college coaches. Everything about this showcase is intentional, and nothing is being done haphazardly. College coaches will lead prospects during the skill stations and coach the players during games. Maximum ball touches have been built into this event through stations, 3v3, and 5v5 play. There will be a Headliners Invitational MVP selected for both sessions. All participants take an event T-shirt home with them, and a special edition T-shirt will be given to our showcase MVPs.
