Regular season practice has started all across the Bluegrass state and scrimmages will start in the next month. I wanted to breakdown the top 5 college prospects and the top 5 teams in each region heading into the year. This should not be considered the top 5 overall players! These are the best college prospects in each region.

Region 11:

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='741172' first='Makiyia' last='Wheeler'], Franklin County - An electric guard who is quick at getting downhill and makes good reads off the bounce, Wheeler has barely started to touch her long term potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='743664' first='Jaelee' last='Knowles'], Douglass - Douglass is going to have to replace two D1 players (one to graduation, the other to transfer) but Knowles is definitely next up to be a D1 player out of Lexington.

[player_tooltip player_id='328576' first='Juliana' last='Frazee'], Franklin County - Seems like she's been playing varsity for a decade but she's still one of the best post players in the entire state and has a polished low post game. Frazee has quietly been the MVP for the last few years at Franklin County.

[player_tooltip player_id='743648' first='Adrianna' last='Brown'], Scott County - A good athlete who is capable of impacting the game on both ends of the court. Brown is still working into becoming a more well rounded offensive threat but she's talented and just keeps getting better.

[player_tooltip player_id='675265' first='Kendall' last='Kearney'], Great Crossing - Across town, Great Crossing has a good but young roster this season. Kearney is likely the best of the group but there are multiple young ladies who could be their "go to" this year. The Scott County vs Great Crossing games this season will be must see!

Top 5 Teams:

Franklin County

Douglass

Scott County

Great Crossing

Madison Central

Region 12:

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='403464' first='Grace' last='Mbugua'], Danville Christian - Already committed to Louisville, Grace put on one of the most impressive individual performances in recent memory at Rupp in March. Coming back from an ACL tear, I don't know when she'll see the court this year but Mbugua is the ultimate difference maker.

[player_tooltip player_id='557203' first='Claire' last='Marshall'], West Jessamine - Claire is a walking double-double and one of the hardest players to guard in the region. Capable of scoring anywhere on the floor, Marshall is extremely well rounded and is one of the best 20 players in the state, regardless of class.

[player_tooltip player_id='785374' first='Addison' last='Yates'], Boyle County - She's only a freshman but Yates has a ton of potential thanks to her size and her shooting ability. Addison can knock down shots from deep range and is only going to get better as she gets more well rounded in her scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id='403467' first='Kinsley' last='Molden'], Southwestern - Southwestern always has a lot of talent and Molden is the next one up. Kinsley is capable of playing on or off the ball and proved she's one of the state's top three point shooters last season when she hit 46% of her attempts from 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='971422' first='Alyssa' last='Burkhart'], Garrard County - As an 8th grader, Burkhart averaged 13 points per game and excelled at getting to the free throw line. If she can improve her shooting from 3, Alyssa may be averaging close to 20 points per game this season.

Top 5 Teams:

Danville Christian

West Jessamine

Southwestern
