Ashley and the Lady Braves are fresh off a Class 3A State Championship at the end of February. As for her value as a prospect, she is one of the most under-the-radar recruits in the state in the Class of 2028. She has a fairly strong, athletic frame, some length, and she plays with a quiet toughness. Ashley loves to play with physicality, whether that’s attacking the basket and drawing contact, hitting the boards, or defending a variety of big guards, wings, and forwards. She could be a highly effective wing at an elite small college situation.

CO-CLASS 3A MVP: Maybe the best thing for Bellmont last night was that Ashley was able to settle in and just be herself. She didn’t try to play outside of her abilities, she had a well-rounded game like usual, and she was able to affect winning at both ends of the floor. Still just a Sophomore, Ashley scored 13 points, she grabbed 6 rebounds, and she handed out 7 assists, in addition to blocking a shot. She helps keep her team poised, and it allowed the rest of the team to play confidently and step up as well.

I was in-between choosing Ashley or her twin, Mary, but to me, because Ashley is a perimeter player who will touch the ball more throughout a game, I figure she has the better chance of being impactful. She is a strong-for-her-age wing. She plays with a quiet toughness, and she is skilled. She is a worker who just absorbs contact, gets to the rim, and finishes in odd ways too. Additionally, she can shoot it consistently outside, she can handle and initiate the offense, plus she rebounds her position well, and she’s a versatile defender who can take on guards, wings, and forwards.

Ashley is athletic and can play fast. Can score with either hand at the rim. Catch and shoot guard with a smooth perimeter jump shot. Great body control and can score in all 3 phases. Solid defender, long and can play the passing lanes. Love her game!

Ashley stepped in immediately this year and was big for a very good Bellmont team. She has a fairly strong frame for a young guard, nice length, and she understands how to score. She has nice touch from the perimeter, but she’s also a solid North/South attacker who finished with both hands around the rim. As she continues to become more dynamic off the dribble, change directions in traffic, etc., she could be a real problem for opponents to match up with.

Ashley got better as the game progressed. She has a nice finish at the rim. Uses her frame to secure position and can score over her defender. Only a sophomore, her game should continue to grow!
