Mackenzie is a part of a young, fun group at Fort Wayne Snider, but with prospects like Janaya Cooper Janaya Cooper 5'11" | SF/SG Fort Wayne Snider | 2028 State #22 Nation IN in the lineup, Mackenzie might not always get the most attention. Still, though, she is a long, wiry-strong, fluidly athletic wing. She has nice touch from the perimeter when she’s able to get set and find her rhythm. She’s also working on her handle and ability to push it in transition or initiate the offense in the halfcourt. Defensively, she does a nice job of using her length, plus she plays with some versatility at that end. Often times she ends up being the “glue” kid and makes a great hustle play.

Mackenzie continued to show why she already holds an offer from Davenport, putting together a strong performance that likely reinforced what the coaching staff already sees in her game. The long guard impacted play in multiple ways throughout the camp, using her length and athleticism to create problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. She attacked the basket effectively, knocked down perimeter shots, and consistently showcased her versatility during the guard development sessions. Mackenzie was particularly impressive during the skill work, where her all-around game and ability to handle different situations stood out. Defensively, she competed with toughness and intensity, making life difficult for opposing guards. Her combination of size, skill, and two-way impact made for another impressive showing.

McKenzie is beginning to truly come into her own this season, stepping confidently into the expanded role that became available following the graduation of last year’s senior class. From the start, she has shown that she is ready to embrace the responsibilities of being a primary contributor for Snider, and she has done so with a level of poise that is impressive for a sophomore. One of her strongest attributes is her shooting ability. She is especially effective in transition, where she stays alert, reads the defense, and steps into her shot with confidence and rhythm. Her scoring doesn’t just come from catch-and-shoot opportunities—she also has the ability to create space for herself and knock down mid-range jumpers when the defense is set, which makes her a versatile scoring option. Beyond her individual scoring, McKenzie’s impact on the team is evident in the way she helps maintain offensive flow. She understands when to push the pace, when to make the extra pass, and when to take the shot, showing an advanced basketball IQ for her age. Her teammates clearly respond to her energy and confidence, and she has moments on the floor where she lifts the group—whether it’s a key basket, a smart decision in transition, or a vocal encouragement during a tough stretch. As a sophomore, McKenzie is already providing Snider with reliable production when the team needs it most, and her development this season suggests she has the potential to become a focal point of the program in the years to come. Her combination of scoring ability, court awareness, and leadership potential makes her an exciting player to watch, and she continues to prove that she can rise to the challenge when the game demands it.
