The final rankings update is live, and we have updated the Class of 2028 rankings to end the grassroots season. The 2028 talent in the state had a standout AAU season, and I thought, as a whole, the 2028s helped themselves out more than any other class in the state. There are plenty of players I'll highlight in this Class before we move on to something else, but this is a group to be excited about. We'll start highlighting the Top Ten in a Top Five and Next Five article.

Riak has the potential of being the best athlete the state has ever produced. Her ability to make plays at 6'2 with the ball in her hands, score from all three levels, and be possibly the best pure athlete in her Class, makes her stand out when you watch her games from last season. The scariest part about where she's at right now is that she still has so much room to grow.

The Oostburg wing played an integral role in the Lady Dutch's run to a D3 State Title in her first season of high school basketball. Ketterhagen established herself as one of the state's most prolific offensive players and demonstrated her ability to make challenging shots from anywhere on the floor last season. Ketterhagen can make the game look simple when she's at her best.

The Southeast Wisconsin native had a successful season. However, it was interrupted by injuries. Mannettter does an excellent job of attacking the basket and gets to the rim as well as anyone else in her Class. Mannetter has a knack for getting to the basket and putting an immense amount of pressure on a defense's back line. She could potentially lead a deep postseason run with her Westosha Central group next season.

The Stevens Point wing may be the most improved player among her peers. Last summer, Awe was a rangy forward who could block shots, showed potential with the ball in her hands, and could do some things on the perimeter, and it felt like she turned a corner at some point over the last handful of months. I'd say the 2028 who has asked me the most about in this group is [player_tooltip player_id='936786' first='Leah' last='Awe'], and that shows the amount of interest she's drawn this spring and summer.

The Eau Claire native has some elite potential, and I'm not sure she even realizes the kind of player she could turn into, and I may not either. Kling is an elite basketball player who has drawn interest from reputable programs in the state, and is a soccer player who attends tournaments in Europe. She has an excellent pull-up jumper, exploded on the offensive end in the Big Rivers in her first high school season, and is a high-level defender.
