PGH Expo: Team 7 Evaluations

The 2025 Expo was packed with talent as 80 prospects hit the floor on September 27th. The event format featured four hours of nonstop action, with players rotating through organized 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. One of the key benefits of the showcase is the media exposure—coverage from our scouts has already drawn thousands of views on X, and our post-event writeups are read by hundreds more. Every athlete who participates is highlighted in these articles, which makes the Prep Girls Hoops showcases such a unique and valuable experience. Players also had the chance to compete in front of various college coaches throughout the day. My focus this time was on Teams 1, 2, 7, 9, and 10. Let's start with some standout moments from Team 7!    Michaela delivered a standout performance for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, showcasing her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Offensively, she knocked down shots from the perimeter with confidence and created opportunities for teammates by delivering crisp passes in transition. She attacked the basket with strength, finishing through contact, and used a sharp crossover to blow by defenders. On the defensive end, her quick hands disrupted opponents, and she stayed disciplined by consistently boxing out and holding her ground. With a strong senior season ahead, Michaela looks ready to make a big impact, and any college program would be fortunate to add her to their roster.     McKynley proved to be one of the top performers for Team 7 at the PGH Expo with her sharp decision-making and steady leadership at the point guard spot. She handled the ball with poise, using her shiftiness to navigate defenders and set up teammates with well-placed passes. From deep, she showed confidence by knocking down threes, and she added one of the day's more impressive plays by grabbing an offensive rebound and finishing with a smooth reverse layup. Defensively, she was just as impactful, using quick hands to strip the ball and applying relentless pressure to opposing guards.     Lauren brought great energy for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, using her length and athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. She scored efficiently around the basket, converting tough finishes and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities with offensive rebounds and put-backs. Out of the pick-and-roll, she showed good vision by finding teammates with timely passes. Defensively, she protected the paint with multiple blocks and made her presence felt inside. Her blend of size, activity, and skill makes her an intriguing player to watch moving forward.     Raquel was nothing short of dominant at the PGH Expo, earning MVP honors with her all-around performance for Team 7. An explosive and athletic guard, she showed she can score at all three levels, attacking the rim with authority, pulling up smoothly in the mid-range, and knocking down shots from deep. Time and again, she pushed the ball coast to coast, turning defense into offense with ease. Her ball-handling and speed made her nearly impossible to contain, while her athleticism translated on the defensive end with several blocks that energized her team. With Division I offers already on the table—and more sure to follow—it's clear Raquel is a high-level talent who made the Expo her stage.     Sophia put together an impressive showing for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, standing out with her scoring ability and all-around impact. She showed off her shooting range, knocking down threes with consistency and confidence, while also attacking the basket and finishing strong through contact. In transition, she played both roles effectively—running the floor for easy buckets and setting up teammates with smart passes. Defensively, her quick hands created multiple turnovers, giving her team extra possessions. Sophia's combination of shooting, toughness, and playmaking made her one of the top guards on display.     Ella earned Top Performer honors for Team 7 at the PGH Expo by doing all the little things that make a big difference. She brought constant hustle, diving on the floor for loose balls and battling hard for offensive rebounds to create second-chance opportunities. On defense, she stayed locked in and made life tough for opposing guards with her effort and intensity. Offensively, she finished effectively around the rim and stretched the floor by connecting from behind the arc. Ella's energy and versatility gave her team a boost every time she was on the court.     Julia made a strong contribution for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, showing off her scoring touch and effort on the boards. She knocked down multiple three-pointers throughout the day, stretching the defense and keeping opponents honest. On the glass, she battled hard, securing several offensive rebounds and creating extra scoring opportunities for her team. Julia's combination of shooting ability and hustle made her a valuable presence on the floor.     Maraeyah had a strong showing for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, showcasing her quickness and versatility as a guard. She handled the ball with agility, using her moves to create space and get to the rim, including a smooth step-through finish. Always giving maximum effort, she dove for loose balls and played with a relentless motor. On defense, her active hands made life difficult for opponents, and she also showed her shooting ability by knocking down a three-pointer. Maraeyah's energy and skill made her a consistent contributor throughout the day.
