The 2025 Expo was loaded with talent as 80 prospects took the court on September 27th, 2025. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant is featured in our post-event articles, which is a unique and special aspect of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. Girls had the opportunity to play for different college coaches. My coverage focused primarily on teams 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Here are a few highlights for each player from Team 5 below!

Sanyiah put her stamp on the PGH Expo and solidified herself, in my mind, as a guard with the athleticism, instincts, and abilities on both sides of the ball to be a D1 prospect. She used a shifty double-crossover move to split defenders during 3v3 and blew by to score a layup. She made a great bounce pass to a cutter for an assist and swished a smooth free-throw jumper. Sanyiah continued to stand out during games with Team 5. She turned up the heat on defense, applying full-court pressure without fouling. Sanyiah penetrated gaps with quick crossovers, delivered excellent bounce passes into the post, and accelerated downhill to earn many trips to the free-throw line. She was a force on the offensive glass and knocked down jumpers. Sanyiah was a Top Performer and my 2025 MVP.

Sophia came out confident during 3v3. She attacked hard with her dribble to score layups, including a strong and-one finish with her left hand. Sophia continued to make an impact during games for Team 5. She buried a step-back three, made a great block, was effective in the pick-and-roll, and disrupted passing lanes. Sophia was an active communicator, crashed hard to secure rebounds, and caused a jump ball. She earned recognition as a Top Performer at the PGH Expo.

Sam had a solid day for Team 5 on both ends of the court. She shoots the ball with balance and confidence from the perimeter. Sam buried a triple off the catch with great mechanics and did a great job of taking her open shots, but also spreading the wealth. She contested shots to force misses without fouling and secured rebounds. Sam made a great closeout block, sprinted ahead in transition, and caught the ball in stride with good hands to finish the layup.

Tamia has speed and aggressiveness that makes her tough on both ends of the court. She scored a full speed layup in transition with her left and knocked down her free throw after causing a foul. Tamia worked hard to apply pressure on defense and handled the ball confidently with both hands. She had a good day for Team 5 and will be a point guard to watch at Wyoming this winter.

Yazmyne contributed in multiple ways to help Team 5 succeed at the PGH Expo. She shot the ball confidently from beyond the arc, had good passing instincts, and facilitated the ball effectively on offense. Yazmyne sees the floor and has good court awareness. She handles the ball confidently with both hands and makes the hustle plays.

Leigha was a force to be reckoned with for Team 5 at the PGH Expo. You don't see forwards make outstanding passes, but Leigha threw an absolute dime after securing a rebound. She fired a bounce pass between two defenders to a teammate in stride sprinting ahead in transition for the assist. Leigha maintained excellent defensive positioning and contested shots to force misses without fouling. Leigha pinned defenders with strong seals to score layups and earn trips to the free-throw line. She was a rebounding force on both ends and split defenders with a burst on a hard drive to the basket for a powerful and-one finish. Leigha earned recognition as a Top Performer and separated herself on the court.

Ma'Lia is known for her defense and effectiveness as a facilitator, but it was her perimeter presence that stood out at the PGH Expo. Ma'Lia looked inside and made a great pass into the low post. She handled the ball confidently with both hands and showed her confidence as a shooter, draining triples from the slot and the corner. She's a scrappy point guard and two-way playmaker joining the West Bloomfield program.
