The Class of 2029 has the future of Michigan girls basketball looking very promising. There is a great group of guards I've recently taken note of that I believe are ready to take their game to the next level and make a big impact for their schools. Here's a group who everyone should be on the lookout for in the upcoming 2025-2026 season:

Alsabeh is the type of player that you can't leave alone on the three point line. If she doesn't hit a quick three, she's ready to attack the basket and make a tough bucket through multiple defenders. Her footwork and ability to find open teammates around the rim shows she's ready for the next level. She'll be a great addition to the Chargers this year.

Hammoud is a well-rounded guard. The Pioneers will definitely benefit from her capability to see the floor and make great decisions in both transition and in the half court. She can score at all three levels with a confident shot from the three point line, a smooth pull up jumper, and crafty finishes at the rim. The energy she can bring won't go unnoticed this season.

Odinga is a long, athletic guard and uses it to her advantage. She's an exceptional rebounder despite being 5 foot 8 looking to get her team the ball back any chance she gets. Her confidence finishing at the rim shows as she attacks with a scoring mindset whether a defender is there or not. She's got a great release from three as well making it tough to guard her out on the perimeter. Look out for her to make a big impact for the Brandon basketball program.

Panetta uses smooth swift handles to get by defenders and get to the hoop. This opens up her perimeter game where she is an absolute sharp shooter with an effortless release. With the ball in her hands she's got her head up, prepared to find the next open player. She'll be an exciting player to watch for the Eisenhower Eagles.

Patton has great energy that fuels anyone she's on the floor with. It could without a doubt be a game changer for Powers Catholic. She is calm under pressure and is focused on setting her teammates up for success. Also has confidence to step up and knock down a three when her team needs it. Be on the lookout for her highlights this season.

Schriner is great two-way player for Powers Catholic. She does a great job of using her length and quickness on the defensive end by sprinting back to recover in transition and get her hands on the ball for a steal. Not just a great shooter, but a great passer as well ready to attack the defense and get her team in a good position to score. A must watch player coming up this season.
