Regular season practice has officially tipped off across Kentucky, with scrimmages set to begin next month. As we gear up for another exciting year of high school hoops, I've broken down the top college prospects in each region heading into the season.

Note: This list is not a ranking of the top overall players. Instead, it highlights the best college prospects in each region based on their potential to succeed at the next level.

Region 1:

[player_tooltip player_id='494359' first='Sayler' last='Lowe'], Calloway County (2026) - Committed to the University of North Alabama, she has eclipsed 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Last season, she averaged 19.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, earning Third Team All-State honors for her standout play.

[player_tooltip player_id='761880' first='Jaidan' last='Koch'], Calloway County (2026) - Committed to the University of Southern Indiana, she was the Lady Lakers' second-leading scorer (16 PPG) and rebounder (7 RPG), earning All-Purchase and All-Region honors last season. Following a strong summer, she's poised to carry that momentum into the 2025–26 campaign

[player_tooltip player_id='663862' first='Lay' last='Mayes'], Mayfield (2026) - She holds several college offers, including a Division I offer from Morehead State. Averaging 19.7 points per game, she earned All-Purchase Team honors for the third consecutive year. The Lady Cardinals' all-time leader in three-pointers made, she will once again be the catalyst to their success this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239005' first='Macee' last='Hogancamp'], Carlisle County (2027) - The top post prospect in the region, she anchored Carlisle County with 13.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game last season. A Paducah Sun All-Purchase Team selection, she enters her junior campaign already surpassing 1,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='743669' first='Kenzlee' last='Terry'], Marshall County (2027) - A sharpshooting guard who averaged 13.3 points per game and knocked down 40% from beyond the arc, she played a key role in leading Marshall County to the Region Championship and a trip to the Sweet 16. A promising prospect with a sweet stroke, she's expected to see college offers coming her way soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='978239' first='Ava' last='Hughes'], McCracken County (2028) - A super sophomore who led the Lady Mustangs in scoring as a freshman, averaging 15 points per game. Expect more of the same this season, she's poised to be the next big thing to come out of McCracken County.

Region 2:

[player_tooltip player_id='493155' first='Atylia' last='Green'], Henderson County (2026) - Committed to Kentucky State University, she averaged 12.8 points per game and played a pivotal role in leading Henderson County to the region championship and a Sweet 16 quarterfinal appearance last season. She also holds the program's single-season record for steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='722828' first='Piper' last='Cotham'], Lyon County (2027) - She led Lyon County in scoring with a team-high 19.4 points per game and surpassed the 1,000-point career mark last season. The reigning 2nd Region Player of the Year continues to elevate her game and currently holds an offer from Brescia University.

[player_tooltip player_id='376763' first='Anaysia' last='Bagwell'], Christian County (2026) - She had a strong junior campaign, averaging 16 points per game and helping the Lady Colonels capture the 8th District title. Holding multiple college offers, she's a big-time bucket getter and will be the go-to option for Christian County this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='376793' first='Anna' last='Boone'], Crittenden County (2026) - She did it all for Crittenden County as a junior, averaging a team-leading 14.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while leading her team to a 5th District title and a Region Championship game appearance. The 2023–24 2nd Region Player of the Year, she's a talented guard prospect who could make an immediate impact at the college level.

[player_tooltip player_id='376814' first='Brooklyn' last='Gibson'], Henderson County (2026) - Committed to Asbury University, she was a key contributor for Henderson County during their run back to the Sweet 16, leading the team in scoring with 13.4 points per game and ranking second in rebounds at 4.5 per contest. Unfortunately, she suffered an ACL injury over the summer and could miss the entire 2025–26 season.

Regular season practice has officially tipped off across Kentucky, with scrimmages set to begin next month. As we gear up for another exciting year of high school hoops, I've broken down the top college prospects in each region heading into the season.
