There was a battle between 2 Christians schools on Tuesday night at Roanoke Valley Christian School. Roanoke Valley Christian hosting Westover Christian Academy, Roanoke Valley Christian came away with the win, beating Westover Christian 51-39. Westover Christian was winning by 1 at the end of the first quarter, then Roanoke Valley turned up the pressure in the second and third quarters, outscoring Westover Christian 28-16. Here are some of the Underclassmen who led their teams:
Gracie Huffard Gracie Huffard 6'3" | PF Lord Botetourt | 2024 State VA – Class 2024- Roanoke Valley Christian
Gracie is a 6’2 Forward who plays all over the court, she led all scorers with 15 points and dominated on the boards with a game-high of 11 rebounds. She is very special to her team coming in as an 8th grader. Gracie plays big down low on both ends, scoring in the paint, getting rebounds and blocking shots. She is the second leading scorer on her team, averaging 9.8 PPG, leads her team in rebounding with 8.4 RPG. Gracie is very effective on defense averaging 2.1 SPG and 2.1 BPG. There will be lots of excitement in the coming years to see how this young lady will dominate the game.
Angelina Jones– Class 2023- Roanoke Valley Christian
Angelina is a 5’6 Guard who can really score, running the floor and stepping out to shoot the three. She stepped in and helped with the scoring, ending the game with 11 points, including one three-pointer. Angelina led her team in scoring throughout the season averaging 16.7 PPG, mostly coming off of steals, turning them into easy buckets in transition. She is averaging 2.1 SPG, right along with her teammate, Gracie Huffard Gracie Huffard 6'3" | PF Lord Botetourt | 2024 State VA .
Lauren White– Class 2023- Westover Christian
Lauren led her team Westover Christian with 12 points, including 2 three-pointers. She is a solid all around player, averaging 8.7 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 1.7 SPG. She has earned Player of the Game awards twice this season.
Alannah Kelley– Class 2023- Westover Christian
Alannah scored 8 points in the game. She uses her shooting ability to spread the floor and knock down open shots in transition. Alannah leads her team in scoring, averaging 11 PPG, shooting 39% from behind the arc. She gets it done on the defensive end with her intensity and vision, averaging 2.8 SPG. She had earned Player of the Game awards, on 4 out of 10 games this season.
Dani Moser– Class 2022- Roanoke Valley Christian
Dani is a 5’2 Guard who can control the pace of the game. She was the second leading scorer in the game with 13 points. Dani has averaged 7 PPG, 1.2 APG, 2.4 RPG, being a solid player for her team. However, she gets it done the most on defense with her quickness, leading her team with 2.2 SPG.
