After looking at the current AAA record books, a lot of the players who are on the leaderboards for their 3-point shooting are still playing today. These five have etched their names into state history simply because of how deadly they are from outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='593252' first='Jacey' last='Halitzka'] has been one of the best shooters in the state for the last couple of years, and she has two entries in the state's record books.

During the 2024/25 season, Halitzka was shooting lights out from beyond, making 116 triples, which puts her in 11th place all-time for most threes made in a single season. That's a crazy number, but what's even crazier is that she beat her own personal record the very next year.

This past season, Halitzka knocked down 119 3-pointers, which is 9th all-time in a single season. At this rate, the rising senior may beat her own record again, because she has been shooting the nets off the rims with the [program_tooltip program_id='712399' first='Arkansas' last='Mavericks'] this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='593252' first='Jacey' last='Halitzka'] has proven to be a serious threat from beyond the arc, and I hope colleges see that too.

I've already talked about [player_tooltip player_id='1091183' first='Erin' last='Akins'] once recently, as she made the record books thanks to some stellar postseason play during her freshman season.

Akins is tied with a bunch of other players for the 10th most threes made in a state tournament game at 6. That was done during the 2024-25 season, and so were these other two records.

Akins is 13th all-time in state history in most threes made during the regular season, and she made that leaderboard when she hit 112 triples during her freshman campaign. That same season, Akins hit 46.4% of her perimeter attempts, which is good for the 7th-best all-time in state history.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091183' first='Erin' last='Akins'] is truly a great 3-point shooter, and I would be interested to see if she can get herself back into the record books this coming year.

Bergman has some lethal 3-point shooters, because in addition to Halitzka, [player_tooltip player_id='1118017' first='Kyna' last='See'] wrote her name in the history books this past season.

See knocked down 111 threes this year, which is good for the 14th most made in a single season in Arkansas history. This is no surprise, as See is truly a lights-out shooter and she has no problem hitting shots off the catch and off the bounce.

A player like See draws a lot of attention along the perimeter, and shooting with a hand in her face doesn't bother her. However, she has shown that she can hit pull-up jumpers in the mid-range area with no trouble.

Chances are, [player_tooltip player_id='1118017' first='Kyna' last='See'] could see herself back in the record this coming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091201' first='Alyssa' last='McGuire'] broke out as a sophomore, and now she is etched in the history books with two separate records.

McGuire had a great 2024-25 season, and she reached her peak when she went off for 40 points against Armorel. In that game, she knocked down 12 triples, which is the fourth most made in a single game. Not only does this rising senior guard hit multiple threes a night, but she also knocks down these shots at an efficient rate.

During that same season, McGuire was knocking down her perimeter shots at a 45.2% rate. Out of 188 attempts, that is an incredible number, and it's hard to do when the defense already knows you can shoot at a high level.

I believe [player_tooltip player_id='1091201' first='Alyssa' last='McGuire'] has a college basketball future ahead of her, and that 3-point shooting will help her get to that point.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275521' first='Emily' last='Simpson'] is a highly underrated player coming out of the 2A classification, but she is already in the record books.

Simpson had one heck of a game just a few months ago on February 16th, because she knocked down 12 triples in that contest, which is tied with McGuire for the fourth most made threes in a game in state history. Simpson is also tied with another former Mount Vernon-Enola great in that category: Ashley Hutchcraft, who is also the current head coach of the Conway Lady Wampus Cats (fun fact of the day).

During that game, Simpson was absolutely feeling it in the first half, cashing in 8 3-pointers in just that half alone. Though this record hasn't been recorded for long, Simpson's 8 triples in that half is the most in state history.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275521' first='Emily' last='Simpson'] is one of the best returning shooters in the state, and more people need to be talking about her!

Is anyone surprised that [player_tooltip player_id='1090920' first='Easton' last='McCollough'] is being mentioned again for an article about shooting? Yeah, me neither.

McCollough is on multiple leaderboards for her play during her previous playoff runs. This includes her hitting 12 threes in a playoff game (most ever). She also scored 54 points in a single postseason contest, which is the third most ever scored. McCollough's regular season records are ridiculous, too.

This past season, she knocked down 160 3-pointers, which is good for the second-most all-time in a single season, only behind Norfork legend and former Crowley's Ridge College star, Kelcy Acklin. McCollough also beat her own record from her freshman season, when she hit 138 triples that season, which has her tied for the fourth most made in a single campaign. Oh, that's not all, folks.

When it comes to a single game, [player_tooltip player_id='1090920' first='Easton' last='McCollough'] has put herself in the record books multiple times. She has hit 10 3-pointers in a game at least twice, both times this past year, which is the 10th most all-time. She also hit 11 triples during a game this year, which is the 7th best mark in a single game in state history.

After looking at the current AAA record books, a lot of the players who are on the leaderboards for their 3-point shooting are still playing today. These five have etched their names into state history simply because of how deadly they are from outside.
