The featured image is of [player_tooltip player_id='928183' first='Jaycee' last='Archer'] (2028) from Linton-Stockton High School.

About once a year I like to go through various areas of the state and highlight players for different reasons. In this specific article, I wanted to create an All-Western Indiana team of the Top 5 prospects from "Terre Haute to Vincennes" heading into the 2026-2027 season. Below that list is an Honorable Mention section including one prospect from each high school in the area. All of these prospects come from schools in Western Indiana, but more specifically, from the counties of Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Knox, Daviess, and the Western half of Greene.

.

The last couple of seasons have been outstanding for the 6-3 forward, so I'm anxious to see what Alaina does this year. She is one of those prospects who has good size, some strength, and she can play in the post with her skill and athleticism, but she isn't a post by nature. She is more of a face-up '4' who likes to find shots in the short corners and the mid-post, and she can stretch it to the 3-point line on occasion. She has also improved her handle and vision over the years, plus she shows versatility at the defensive end of the floor. She is likely one of the top 2027s still available in the Midwest.

Kendal is a skilled and talented point guard prospect who can play different roles depending on what her team needs. She has nice length, good end-to-end speed, and she has very quick hands. She can act as a selfless floor general who distributes the ball evenly and finds teammates in positions to score, or she can take over a game, fill it up from outside, and get downhill and finish around the rim. I think what gets lost is her defense. She is equally productive at that end, and she plays with a great motor and a quiet toughness. She can come in and immediately help a college program.

Carlee's popularity in recruiting circles has grown drastically over the past 12 to 18 months. She is a really nice athlete, she has an athletically strong frame, and she has great North/South speed. In the past, she has played sort of a point forward role, especially for Northview, so she has a solid handle and good vision. But this Spring & Summer, she ran the outside lanes a lot in transition and looked to get ahead of the defense and score it on every catch. She is tough getting to the basket, and she absorbs contact well, but she can also knock down shots consistently from outside.

London is a really nice, versatile forward, but she had a rollercoaster stretch due to some injuries. She looked solid in the Spring, but by July she looked like she was back to herself at near 100%. She has a solid to strong frame, she doesn't mind physicality at all, and she can play in the mid-post or around the perimeter. What makes London unique is her physical play inside the arc, coupled with her ball skill, her vision, and her ability to make her teammates better when playing a point forward role. She understands how to win and help her teams in any way she can with that goal in mind.

When I first saw Za'Nariae in April, I had her name on a list, but I didn't realize it was her because of rosters, etc. Watching her again in May and July, she continued to impress, and while playing at the 17U level. She is so strong, compact, and physical upon attack, not to mention she is a talented athlete with some shiftiness in her game. She absorbs contact well, gets into the paint like a running back, but she's a willing passer. She can score the ball when open, but she is pretty steady and doesn't force shots. She is someone who will rise into our 2028 rankings list in September.

HONORABLE MENTION:
Barr-Reeve - Paighton Parsons (2027)
Clay City - Taylor Rhienhart (2027)
Cloverdale - Erin Rubeck (2028)
Dugger Union - Bella Gallion (2029)
Greencastle - Kaylee Ames (2028)
Linton-Stockton - [player_tooltip player_id='928183' first='Jaycee' last='Archer'] (2028)
Loogootee - [player_tooltip player_id='1827729' first='Lydia' last='Hawkins'] (2029)
North Central (Farmersburg) - Shelby Shattuck (2027)
North Daviess - [player_tooltip player_id='1299748' first='Maleah' last='Lengacher'] (2028)
North Knox - [player_tooltip player_id='1827761' first='Caroline' last='Yenne'] (2029)
North Putnam - Bella McElhany (2029)
North Vermillion - [player_tooltip player_id='1327399' first='Nora' last='Thomann'] (2028)
North Vigo - [player_tooltip player_id='1361101' first='Grayce' last='Renn'] (2029)
Northview - [player_tooltip player_id='992356' first='Kambry' last='Shoults'] (2028)
Parke Heritage - [player_tooltip player_id='989989' first='Lila' last='Busenbark'] (2028)
Riverton Parke - Jacee Stonebraker (2027)
Shakamak - Mattilyn Hill (2027)
South Knox - Ellie Burke (2027)
South Putnam - Lyla Rissler (2027)
South Vermillion - Brenly Hill (2029)
South Vigo - Samarra Newburn (2028)
Sullivan - Rigley Goodman (2028)
Vincennes Lincoln - Jaelyn Riggs (2027)
Vincennes Rivet - [player_tooltip player_id='1818903' first='Allivia' last='Stearns'] (2027)
Washington - Ella Knepp (2027)
Washington Catholic - Madison McCracken (2027)
West Vigo - Camryn Funk (2028)
White River Valley - [player_tooltip player_id='1865922' first='Molly' last='Settles'] (2027)
