London Gilley brings versatility and toughness to the Washington program entering June ball. She is a wing that can impact the game both inside and on the perimeter, giving her coaching staff flexibility in matchups. Gilley plays with physicality and competes hard on both ends, which allows her to contribute even when shots are not falling.

Offensively, she has shown the ability to attack the rim, finish through contact, and create scoring opportunities in transition. Defensively, her length and activity make her effective guarding multiple positions. June will be an important evaluation period for Gilley because her skill set fits the modern wing mold that many college coaches value. Continued development with ball handling and perimeter shooting could make her one of the bigger risers moving forward.

London’s ability to change roles from game to game is a testament to her versatility. Saturday, she acted as a point forward a lot of the time, handling it in transition, breaking down defenses, and finding open teammates. She is also a more than capable perimeter shooter who can be used in that role, plus she has the strength to defend some inside and battle for boards. Ultimately, I think she will be recruited as a versatile wing, but she’s one of those plug-and-play kids who fits into most lineups and systems.
