‘s game but she put all of those to rest theses past few months. Washington has that combination that coaches love. She has natural size, soft hands, coordinated footwork, and a physical demeanor when she catches in the paint with her back to the basket. Every time that her team got her in a 1v1 situation this Winter, she thrived. Honestly, she also thrived even when two players would come to double, demonstrating really how unstoppable she can be. Over her past 3-4 years, her game has grown and her skill has expanded. If she can continue to work on her weaknesses and her team’s offense suits her play-style, then she is going to put up some big numbers over the next four seasons at Illinois State. In this Update though, she holds onto our #3 spot for this 2024 Class.

and her game on the basketball court. Washington is a dominating force inside the lane. She is player that all teams need to game plan for. If they don’t, it could end up being a rough time. Honestly, even if they do, it could still be a rough time because of how much of a mismatch Washington is on the high school floor. She has the ability to work her opponent inside the lane, at either block, 15 ft and in or from the perimeter. She also demonstrates on a regular basis that she can make free throws at a high rate so fouling her isn’t going to help you much. Against Lincoln High on Thursday evening, Washington scored 26 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, poked away 4 steals, blocked 4 shots and her team won 54-36 because of it. This moves the Rockets to an overall 10-2 record with 10 more games remaining for their regular season schedule before the Playoffs begin. If any team wants to beat these guys, they will have to find an answer for Washington because up until this point, it hasn’t happened yet.

On Saturday evening, Lincoln Northeast hosted rival Lincoln Southeast in a highly anticipated battle. In the end, Lincoln Northeast came out on top by a slim margin of 5 points, 56-51. The biggest reason for the Rockets success was their play in the post. They were actively throwing the ball to their Forward’s in the paint and their Forward’s were EATING because of it. The one that was the most noteworthy player being

. Washington is an Illinois State commit and a fierce competitor. In this specific contest that ended in the 50’s, Washington recorded 27 points on her own. Like I said, this group knows where they have an advantage. If they are consistent about using that advantage, they have success, no matter the opponent. The Rockets are 9-2 to kick off this season, which is a great record but nothing to be satisfied with. Their success should be celebrated up to this point but there is still work to be done and I’m sure that everyone on this roster is well aware of that.

is one of the premier post players throughout the state of Nebraska, regardless of Class. Washington has it all. Height, balance, coordination, footwork, touch, and a great attitude. When you combined those all together and put a player in the right spot to succeed, they are going to and that’s exactly what Washington has done the past few years. She has taken her time, dominated any court she stepped on and because of that, she will be playing at the next level following this senior season. All in all, Washington is talented in a plethora of ways. She doesn’t just do one thing well but several things and that is why she retains our #3 spot in this Update. I don’t see many better than her out of the entire state, not to mention her own perspective Class.

. Washington stands at around 6’1-6’2 and is very skilled with her back to the basket. She has the ability to score going over either shoulder, with either hand and is efficient while doing so. Most of the time her team gets her the ball in favorable positions and she usually makes the defense pay because of that. Another thing that Washington is great at is doing her work early and beating her opponents to their spots. She likes to rim-run down the floor at an impressive rate, burying her defender under the basket for a simple look early on in possessions. Washington has a range of offers from all divisions going into her senior season. I’m not sure where she will end up but she has a solid base to become a productive player at the college level one day, no matter where that is.

https://mobile.x.com/neebay23rnWashington is no stranger to this type of list, she is basically a walking double-double. The Rocket’s 6’0″ Junior is averaging 17.0 points with 11.5 rebounds per game early in the season. Washington has excellent footwork around the basket and attacks the ball once it comes off the rim. Her ability to not only rebound, but quickly go back up once securing is elite and puts pressure on interior defenses, by creating fouls with and 1 attempt. With her length and hustle, mixed with good movement, Washington cleans the glass like Windex and provides a consistent target for interior passing. Washington is a top talent player in the state and will garner a ton of attention from colleges.
