Expert Analysis
Mindy McCarthy | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Camille Kerridge is so shifty with the ball being able to use ball fakes to create space and pull up for her jumper. She was a nuisance on defense getting all over the court blocking passes and grabbing steals that she knew how to immediately push up the court. She even had a nice take showing off her ability to take some notes from post players and score on the block. Her shot fakes turned into nice bounce passes getting post players off their feet to hit her teammate in stride on the way to two points at the rim.

Camille Kerridge slides into the passing lanes grabbing steals, and she can easily push the ball right up the court herself for some solo fast breaks. She has a nice jump stop creating space pulling up for the jumper watching it swish through the net. She had a strong take to the rim attacking the paint and rolling the ball off her fingertips. She had a solid finish at the rim scoring three points the old fashioned way.

Early on in the Falcons’ contest with 2A Andrew Jackson, the Volunteers jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter before Nation Ford’s star guard led the charge to get her team back in the game. Kerridge put her team on her back with in a variety of ways – including by getting fouled and taking her opportunities at the free throw line. Defensively, she managed to deflect and intercept pass and play every minute with a heads-up attitude. Kerridge knows when the correct times are to score and when to pass and can put points on the board from anywhere on the court – including from 3-point range. She finished with 37 points.

The centerpiece of the Falcons’ girls basketball program at the moment, Kerridge is coming off an AAU season where she participated with Team Curry 15U during the spring and summer months. Last season, Kerridge amassed one of the signature breakout freshman campaigns anywhere in the state as she averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game in 2021-22. Kerridge is a stout defender that can get opposing ball carriers to commit turnovers and create extra Nation Ford possessions. She can score either by attacking the rim or by shooting the triple which can throw many a defender for a loop. Ball handling skills are another facet of her overall game and she will change directions with the ball.

This rising star sophomore has proven herself to be every bit worth the cost of admission at the 5A Falcons. A product of the AAU juggernaut that is the Team Curry operation, Kerridge averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game to lead Nation Ford to a playoff berth. Kerridge is another who displays her ball handling capabilities regularly. She can come through with big defensive plays and attacks the rim with plenty of quickness. Watch out for her if she has the ball from 3-point range as she is very likely to take and make her tries from deep.
