Jamyrah Cherry is very versatile on the court.  She can handle the ball and make some plays from around the perimeter like finding her teammate underneath the basket or knocking down a shot from deep.  Her size and strength is an asset on the block herself as she can battle against anyone for some boards or use this to her advantage to seal off opponents for her points.  She’s disruptive on defense making sure her hands get in the way of her opponents.

Averaging 16 ppg this season, Jamyrah appears to be adjusting very well to her new surroundings at Salisbury High School. The 2025 forward continues to expand on her game and is doing a great job of doing a little bit of everything for the Lady Hornets. She does a great job using her body to gain position on her opponents. She is very strong and she is not going to be bullied on the block. She can post up her opponents or she can step out and shoot the jumper. She is also a very good ball handler and can be seen leading the fast break in transition. Defensively she has been an extremely solid defender and can be seen guarding essentially every position. She gives smaller guards problems with her size and physical style of play. She is certainly going to play a huge role in helping the Lady Hornets get back to the 2A State title game this season. 

Jamyrah Cherry has a new home with Salisbury this season.  She’s an athlete who can get to the basket battling against contact, and she can knock down her shot from deep.  Her aggressive ball handling using power dribbles and squaring up with her defender is sure to protect each possession.  She can come out of nowhere on defense knocking the ball away or blocking shots to protect the basket.

Jamyrah Cherry has a new home this year taking her ability to make plays on all levels to Salisbury.  She can get inside making moves in the paint battling against anyone trying to stop her.  She does a nice job stepping outside handling the ball, and she is an asset coming up to set screens rolling to get the open look.  She’s tough on defense being able to guard a range of players protecting the basket and using her length to block some shots.

Jamyrah Cherry Jamyrah Cherry 5'11" | SF/CG Winston Salem Christian | 2025 State NC was doing a little bit of everything for her team crashing the boards and putting offensive shots right back up.  She showed off her range shooting the ball from around the perimeter, too.  Her hands seemed to come up with the ball quite a bit on defense whether she was stripping the ball or coming down with a rebound.

Jamyrah Cherry Jamyrah Cherry 5'11" | SF/CG Winston Salem Christian | 2025 State NC was making her own plays getting the rebounds and going back up strong with the board.  She had an excellent defensive stance keeping a strong guard in front of her as she tried to work down to the basket and ultimately ended up with a block on Cherry’s stat sheet.  She did a nice job filling the middle of the court for the pass to break a press.

Jamyrah Cherry had a nice spin move in the paint battling contact for her points.  She hit a clutch three point basket in the fourth quarter closing the gap in her opponents’ lead.  She had a strong second half hitting some important free throws as she was trying to get position for the entry pass.
