Continue ReadingThroughout an entire season, performance is always being valued and critiqued. Many witnesses the performance of athletes on the court. The way they pass the ball, great defensive stances, creative dribbling moves, cool finishes or whatever the entertaining part may be, that’s all we get on some of players. We dig a little deeper into who some of these players are who received some sort of post-season recognition or honor. Whether one made a First Team, All-City, Honorable Mention, etc., now we dive into learning a little more about a some of our POYs or otherwise known as Player of The Year.
Jaki Rollins was named the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference (COAC) Freshman Player of the Year for the 2018-2019 season. Her ball-handling skills are showcased by her ability to drive to basket a threat. Streaky from the 3-point line, all of the attention Rollin draws allows her to get her teammates involved leading to assist. She has a nice quick first step to drive which results in a lay-up or the pull up jumper to the middle.

About Jaki Rollin:
Jaki was inspired to play basketball by her parents. The support her parents give her allows her to be exceptional well in many aspects of basketball. The part of her game that she Jaki loves the most is her aggressiveness in the game. She dribbles the ball well up the court and handles the ball to be able to make the dish. The Freshman POY also likes her ability to finish through traffic. When Jaki is working on elevating her game, she likes to work on her left hand and making outside shots. Her favorite memory in basketball is advancing in post season to play for state her freshman year. Jaki’s future plans include going to college for basketball and eventually a professional career overseas.
