#2 Highlands Ranch 71 – #31 Cherokee Trail 43
It was Emily Hovasse Emily Hovasse 5'6" | CG Highlands Ranch | 2022 State CO shooting and creating and Alex Pirog Alex Pirog 6'3" | C Highlands Ranch | 2022 State CO muscling and scrapping for the Falcons to put the Cougars to sleep. Hovasse flew for 21, nailing 5 of her 12 threes, while Pirog owned the glass with 11 boards. For the Cougs, the talented sophomore, Damara Allen Damara Allen 5'10" | SG Cherokee Trail | 2024 State CO , had 17 points, 10 boards, and 5 steals.
#7 Doherty 52 – #26 Chatfield 36
Gabby Beauperthuy Gabby Beauperthuy 5'11" | PF Doherty | 2022 State CO (16 points, 13 rebounds) and Payton Sterk Payton Sterk 5'10" | PG Doherty | 2022 State CO (14 points, 7 rebounds) stood out in Doherty’s win over Chatfield. Doherty was able to pound the ball inside and get to the line 24 times. For the Charges, it was one last big night for senior standout, Talea Kuennen Talea Kuennen 5'6" | SG Chatfield | 2022 State CO with 17 points and 5 steals.
#10 Fruita Monument 58 – #23 Horizon 43
I know there are those east of the divide who’ve second guessed Fruita Monument’s favor from the ranking gods in recent years. But these Wildcats earned some stripes with a decisive win over a very good Hawks team. Olivia Campbell is a freshman who averaged almost nine a game this year and dropped 13 in this huge playoff win. Senior Kylie Wells isn’t ready for her Wildcat days to end. She scored 10 points with 5 boards and 4 assists.
#3 Grandview 86 – #30 Pueblo West 31
Grandview is a well-oiled machine right now. They flexed for 60 points on Pueblo West … in the first half. With amazing efficiency (86 points on 59 shots, 28 assists to only 11 turnovers), the Wolves had five players in double digit scoring, Lauren Betts Lauren Betts 6'7" | C Grandview | 2022 State #1 Nation CO with 20, Sienna Betts Sienna Betts 6'5" | PF Grandview | 2025 State CO with 17, Marya Hudgins Marya Hudgins 6'0" | SF Grandview | 2022 State CO with 15 (and 6 assists), Amaya Charles Amaya Charles 5'6" | SG Grandview | 2022 State CO with 11 (and 7 assists), and Gabriella Cunningham Gabriella Cunningham 5'8" | SG Grandview | 2024 State CO with 10. For the Cyclones, Gabby Louther Gabby Louther 5'11" | SF Pueblo West | 2022 State CO finishes her amazing career with 15 points and 3 steals.
#19 Pine Creek 42 – #14 Fort Collins 40
Pine Creek and Fort Collins played a nail biter with Pine Creek winning the 4th quarter to seal it. Penley Park Penley Park 5'10" | CG Fort Collins | 2024 State CO and Emily Johnson Emily Johnson 6'0" | C Fort Collins | 2022 State CO each scored 13 for Fo-Co. For the Eagles, LeeKaya Burke-Perryman LeeKaya Burke-Perryman 5'3" | PG Pine Creek | 2025 State CO dropped bombs for 21 points and Brynae Stewart Brynae Stewart 5'11" | SG Pine Creek | 2023 State CO had 10. Zoe Maher, Hope Hoffman, and Madelyn Blazo helped hold Lambkins’ standouts Avery Alcaraz Avery Alcaraz 5'8" | SG Fort Collins | 2025 State CO and Laura Davis Laura Davis 6'0" | PF Fort Collins | 2022 State CO , scoreless. Alcaraz was a big spark this year for Fort Collins averaging 10.6 points as a freshman. Blazo hit two big threes to help the Eagles seal the win.
#6 Cherry Creek 68 – #27 Vista Peak Prep 37
Sophomore Sophia Baldessari chose a big moment to go for a career high 22 points. Creek has so many young, talented weapons. Tianna Chambers Tianna Chambers 6'0" | CG Cherry Creek | 2025 State CO scored 10 and A'Neya Chambers dropped 13. For Vista Peak Prep, Breanna Jefferson Breanna Jefferson 5'4" | CG Vista PEAK | 2022 State CO scored 18 as an exclamation mark to a dream season in which she led the state in scoring average at 23.6 a game.
#11 Ralston Valley 53 – #22 Fountain-Fort Carson 45
Ralston Valley on paper was supposed to be down this year but Sophia Sabus Sophia Sabus 5'11" | CG Ralston Valley | 2024 State CO never got that memo. The sophomore nailed seven three-pointers in an assault of the nets of her home gym. Fountain-Fort Carson had upset aspirations that were dashed in the Mustangs’ second half comeback from a 25-17 halftime deficit. Finley Timon Finley Timon 5'8" | CG Ralston Valley | 2023 State CO hit three threes of her own scoring 12 points and Saya Sabus Saya Sabus 5'9" | CG Ralston Valley | 2022 State CO is continuing a beast of a senior year with 11 points and 6 steals.
