Continue ReadingThe first live period of the travel season has come and gone and we were able to see the stock of many players from Michigan rise. Players were also able to show and solidify themselves as ball handlers, carving together ankle breaking highlights. The 2019 class in particular have some amazing ball handlers.
Here is a look at the top ball handlers in the 2019 class.
Molly Davis – The Central Michigan commit is a player that is very hard to stay in front of coming down the court she has a few moves in her arsenal that makes defenders look silly and gets her the space to get off shots and finish at the rim. Her moves were on full display at the LBI April Showers and at The Classic. Davis is undoubtedly one of the best ball handlers in the state of Michigan
Jasmine Powell – Powell, is one of the fastest players in state with the ball in her hands. While she doesn’t toy with defenders like some of the other players on this list she has a quick change of direction and turns defenders with her quick twitch ability. The Country Day/ Michigan Crossover ball handler holds multiple division 1 scholarship offers.
Jeanae Terry – Jeanae Terry is indeed a special ball handler. In April, she has been the lead guard for 1 Nation and has made some defenders look downright foolish. Even if defenders sit on her initial move, she has counter moves and is relentless with her attack. Her unique length and ball handling combination is why she holds 30+ scholarship offers.
The @LBInsider April Showers Classic 17U Championship went to @1NationEliteGBB. Janae Terry wasn’t leaving without the W.

Moira Joiner – Joiner has went toe to toe with some of the best ball handlers that the nation has to offer including a matchup with Zia Cooke where she hit a game winning jump shot. Consistency is the name of Joiner’s game. It is never flashy but she beats her defender consistently and rarely turns the ball over. It’s not a surprise that the likes of Michigan State extended her an offer after her performance at The Classic in Louisville. A ball handler who is smart and not prone to turnovers is a very good one.
Alyza Winston – Winston is electrifying in the open court. Just like her Michigan Crossover teammate Jasmine Powell, she is fast with the ball in her hands with a quick change of direction. She wasn’t able to play in the live period due to injury but in the games that she was able to play at the LBI April Showers she showed exactly why she is reffered to as a top 100 player. As a ball handler, if she gets a step on you it is over. She also has a nifty spin move that seems to be unstoppable at times.
