Chloe Hartzler
About Chloe
Expert Analysis
Robert Kelly | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Hartzler showed solid game feel, ball skills and north-south speed. In contributing 8 points to a win over Wichita Northwest she scored well on the move and by combining moves within twelve feet. While I would like to see her gain a half-step in lateral quicks and more transition speed with the ball Hartzler brings essential scoring to the Lions.

A Complete Guard (CG) that brings a lot to the any team she plays floor. A shooter that has feet down and squared up into her shot on the catch. The best part of her game is when she is creating off the dribble. A dose of spin moves and change of direction to get by the first defender already reading the next level of defense. This is where the complete guard comes into play. She can look to finish or kick whichever option is the best. An open floor transition guard that has eyes up the floor looking for teammates to fill the lanes.
Tough defender that works to keep chest in front of ball handler. Showed good help rotation that allowed teammates to pressure up outside 20 feet.

— every team needs a floor general and that is exactly who Chloe is! She was able to stay poised under pressure & as simple as it may sound – she was able to keep her dribble alive through traps and aggressive defense. — often times, a players first instinct is to pick up the ball when being “attacked” but that was not the case for Chloe. It was stated in a previous article, but when she was running the show from up top, her team ran smoothly and everything just seemed to play out the way that it was supposed to. Chloe is going to have a breakout year and she is a player to keep a very close eye on!

She’s very gentle and sweet looking, isn’t she? Even when she’s giving you the business she’ll look at her teammates every once in a while and giggle or smile. She’s always having fun out there and, I mean, isn’t that kind of the point? Chloe is a hustler, she goes hard, but is almost always under control. She shines in transition where she is fast, but smooth. She has her eyes up reading things and always picking out the right pass or taking it herself and finishing strong at the rim. She put up some big point totals and it seemed like some games she was absolutely unstoppable from behind the arc. Chloe won All-Tourney Honorable Mention honors thanks to her tremendous effort.

Chloe was the player on the court that hustled on every play – on both ends of the floor. She is a confident guard that continued to make big plays for her team. — she handled the ball with poise and she controlled the pace of the game! She shoots the ball well and keeps her teammates involved. Chloe was a true floor general and her team ran VERY smoothly with her up top. It did not matter if it was at the beginning of the game or the end of the game – tired or exhausted — she exemplified good leadership and was a great teammate!

Chloe has one of the best IQ in the state when competing amongst everyone else. What she lack in athleticism she makes up for it with her IQ and craftiness. Chloe can shoot the 3 ball with the best of them and have been doing it for a long time. Her handles is second to none and her competitiveness is intimidating. While you may think she’s sweet because of her character off the court, she will quickly switch to her alter ego when she steps in-between those lines. A skill she has well that most players don’t get is her ability to draw fouls and fill it up from the free throw line.
