Coach Lewis Mungo’s 4A Camden bunch dropped a couple of games late in the season to region rivals (South Pointe, A.C. Flora) but righted the ship just in time for postseason action. The Bulldogs hosted Seneca in the first round of this year’s 4A playoffs and the 16 points placed on the scoreboard by Rush led to a 73-25 win to dispatch the Bobcats. Rush, one of six juniors on this year’s Camden team, has averaged 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 steals in the 24 games she has played. Fourth-ranked in the most recent 4A girls coaches’ poll, Rush and her Bulldogs will face off against Blue Ridge in the second round.

Rush’s play has been a signature reason why Camden has put together a banner 2025-26 campaign. On Jan. 13, the Bulldogs traveled to York for its third region contest of the season. Camden defeated the Cougars in a rout with the final score being 68-10. Rush was part of that dominant performance with 10 points and six rebounds in addition to reaching the 1,000-point plateau for her career. Rush has averaged 11.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game this season. Coach Lewis Mungo’s Bulldogs have lost only once this season – to region foe South Pointe on Jan. 7. Camden was ranked fourth in the most recent 4A coaches’ poll.

The final game of the day would be a contest of unbeatens – and it resembled one. Big time players step up against big time opponents and Rush did just that as her 10 points made a huge difference in preserving 4A Camden’s undefeated record against 5A Division 2 Goose Creek. Rush primarily plays at the four. When game planning for Rush, one has to watch out for her ball handling capabilities and the speed she has when the ball is in her hands. She will find a way to make tough shots that many other players would not make, will draw contact to get to the free throw line and can switch from playing defense in the paint to doing so on the perimeter.

When the 2025-26 season tips off, Rush will be advancing to junior status with 4A Camden. A power forward that gives coach Lewis Mungo’s Bulldogs a noteworthy height advantage at the four, Rush can establish herself early and often in part because of how efficient a floor runner she is. She will deliver strong finishes at the rim and consistently finds herself in the right places at the right times to make the right plays. Rush competed in Camden’s black and Vegas gold hues last season on 24 occasions and averaged 10.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.8 steals. Expect Rush’s Camden assembling to once again be among the class of the 4A ranks in 2025-26.
